Christians ignore Thor too.

You won't ignore him when you feel his mighty hammer upon you!

Well this is kind of strange, because you don't say who your "one and only god" is. You could be speaking as a Christian, a Jew or a Muslim. I am an atheist, and not a pagan. Pagans have many gods, like Hinduism. In case you are really interested in counter-argument, and not just some Jesus freak, you may like to read my short piece on Understanding the Psychology of Atheism at: http://www.helium.com/tm/533390/writing-heading-reasons-principally

Is the questioner truly seeking an answer? The question is accusatory at best.

Atheism: the belief in no god.

Paganism: earth based religions believing in one or more gods, religions believing in the goddess.

There are many different pagan philosophies as well as many different atheist philosophies.

Pagans believe in a creator, ours just happens to be a female, well actually, many traditions believe in the creator as being androgynous.

Pagans have their mysteries as do the patriarchal religions of this world.

If you truly care to learn just ask.

No that is very egocentric to think your philosophy is the only good one and all others are the big evil one because they are not yours ,that sound like something a preacher would say though ,so I understand the confusion. Also note that Romans called the Christians "pagans" too in the old days.

Hail Eris!

Troll much, Carl? "Paganism" covers about a thousand or so different paths, and that's not counting Heathens and _theirs_. Meanwhile, atheists themselves have a vast range of philosophies, and then there're agnostics -- any one of these groups is roughly as united as a clowder of cats, and as easy to label. So, no they aren't the same, and some Pagans, just FYI, are monotheists. Some even identify as "Christo-Pagans". Finally, if you read your gospels closely, you'll find that your Messiah never said there was only one single deity, or only his father, himself, and a "holy spirit". "There are many mansions in my Father's House."

Snarky
P.S. Try asking that on news:alt.atheism, Carl -- I'm sure they'll *love* you for it.

Not even close. Most of the modern day pagans use to be christian like me. I was forced to be a mormon in my childhood. We pagans believe in many gods especially he Goddess. We feel, There must be a Goddess with the God. I dont understand why you think we are bad because we worship many. Athiests believe in no gods.

According to someone else's religion, you are denying the one and only God as well.

Muslims see Christinans, pagans, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus all as condemned and infidels the very same way Christians see other faiths or non-faiths as condemned and infidels.

Judge not. You are condemened in someone else' religion as well.

The REAL question is, are you a good person and do you have a relationship with your Creator and are you taking care of the home our Creator gave to us?

"Anyone who doesn't believe what I believe is wrong. Period."

approach, then they are.

Are Christians and atheists the same philosophy because they deny Kermit the Frog's sovereignity over heaven and earth?

lables.... christians are obsessed with lables.. it seems the only way they could see the world... nature evolves and creates diversity... that is why there is such a wide variety of plant life, animal and insect life... that is why cultures "evolved" differently.... we are human and humans are social animals, we are meant to have diverse cultues and experiences... christianity limits human understanding and seeks to pigeon hole us constanly in One group or another....

If we look at nature or in nature we see that illnesses are quickly corrected but humans get sicker... this is actually a side effect of religous behavior.. constantly being misguided by lies... that is why when there is prophecy it is said that many will be mislead by satan, it also says satan will call himself god of earth... so you are right there may very well be only one god.. but do we really want to worship such a thing?
