How do you feel when people in your own family, some of whom you deeply love and respect, seem to have no respect for you, and seem to love to preach to you about your heathen ways?

What does that make you feel in your heart? Does it make it difficult for you to respect them anymore? Does it anger you, or does it make you think? Have such encounters strengthened your atheism, Paganism, and etc. beliefs?

*Bonus question for religious people(esp.Christians): How does it make you feel when you are evangelizing to persons you know really aren't interested. Is that a logical course of action?

Do you admit of the possibility that you could be wrong in your religious (or irreligious) beliefs or attitudes?

What would the ramifications of this wrongness be?

Is Jesus separate from the angels?
I think so. here's why:
Jesus is not Michael the Archangel. The Bible nowhere identifies Jesus as Michael (or any other angel for that matter). Hebrews 1:5-8 draws a clear distinction between Jesus and the angels, “For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father"? Or again, "I will be His Father, and He will be my Son"? And again, when God brings His firstborn into the world, He says, "Let all God's angels worship Him." In speaking of the angels He says, "He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire." But about the Son He says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.” Angels worship Jesus. The angels are called sons of God (Genesis 6:2-4; Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7), but Jesus is THE Son of God (Hebrews 1:8; Matthew 4:3-6).

Michael the Archangel is perhaps the highest of all the angels. Michael is the only angel in the Bible who is designated “the Archangel” (Jude verse 9). Michael the Archangel, though, is only an angel. He is not God. The clear distinction in the power and authority of Michael and Jesus can be seen in comparing Matthew 4:10 and Jude verse 9. In Matthew 4:10, Jesus rebukes Satan. In Jude verse 9, Michael the Archangel calls on the Lord to rebuke Satan. Jesus is God incarnate (John 1:1,14). Michael the Archangel is a powerful angel, but still only an angel.

I am truly amazed how some of the same, old, tired misconceptions about Catholic teaching continue to circulate here in Yahoo - and in society at large: Salvation by works, worshipping Mary, etc. etc. It gets very tiresome. The information about Catholic teaching is not hidden in the basement of St. Peter's. The Catechism is online for all to read:
http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/
http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/entiretoc1.htm

And basic anwsers to common misconceptions can be found in the left sidebar at:
http://www.catholic.com/

There was a protestant bishop (an Anglican) who became a Catholic Cardinal, John Henry Newman, who once said that there are not a hundred people who hate the Catholic Church, but the are thousands who hate what they mistakenly think the Church teaches. Those words are as true today as ever.

I invite people to look at the links and comment. I hope they are helpful for those who truly seek answers to questions.
God bless

what came first in your life, God, or religion?
why can't you have God, without religion?

did you find God, thus turned to religion? or
did you grow up with religion, thus found God?

I have love in my heart, love, empathy, kindness all the things attributed to being a Christian, but I have no religion and I have no God, so; why do you need God?

Personally I don't appreciate someone trying to shove their beliefs down my throat...ahem, those who go door-to-door or even stop you in the street.
It would seem that half the time these people are hypocrites.

Coveting of wives, camels, donkeys and similar chatels of men is forbidden by one of the 10 commandments in OT.

I believe in Islam the blame is on the wife who, by showing her attractive face and bautiful legs, put those thoughts in my mind.

Who is right?

Many wannabe Christians fatso's sit on their fat a#* and knock people who drink alcohol. Jesus lumped alcohol and over eating together. Have you controlled your eating as you demand others stop their alcohol? If you are fat you are not a Christian.

"That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Why would your god be so insecure that he would need or even WANT to create a bunch of apes to worship him? Doesn't that sound more like something Satan would desire?

The Quran says, "in S.V.113 states of Jesus:

"By My leave, thou healest those born blind, and the lepers. By my leave, and behold! Thou bringest forth the dead."

Islam proclaims Jesus was a wonderful prophet, a healer and one who brought the dead back to life. No such acts or powers are ascribed in the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. So the Quran itself ascribes greater power to Jesus than to Muhammad.
