I expect some creative answers to this question.....My reason for asking is:

My husband and I came into a real rough spot in our 19th year of marriage...Stress of raising kids, finances, etc.
We did 18 months of counseling with the pastor of our church, and now my marriage, if more rewarding than I thought it ever could be.
Has anyone had the same experience?

You know, like Marines are "The few. The proud."
Army is "Be all that you can be."
Mountain Dew is "Do the Dew."

Name some religions (including atheism and agnosticism for this little exercise) and what you think their slogans would be.

Ninety-seven per cent of non-religious people would help if someone collapsed, compared to 91% of religious people, according to a poll commissioned by the BBC's new religious programme, the Big Questions.

1Pet. 5:8 Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. NLT

Are you tired of the devil attacking you? Are you tired of him messing with your money, your joy, your home, your family, etc? Are you tired of being oppressed, depressed, and repressed by him? Well then, LEAVE HIM ALONE!
So many of us complain about how terrible things are going in our lives and how things seem to never get better, but then we make decisions that are demonic in nature and afterwards, complain about how the devil is attacking us.
We must face the reality of it all sooner or later. When you mess with the devil, he will mess with you! I have people tell me all the time that it seems like their life is torn apart and they can never see the light of day. They seem to pray
constantly about things, seek God about things, and read the bible everyday, but it doesn't ever seem to work for them. "Why is this?" the

our beliefs and when we answer them all you gang up and give bad ratings. If you don't want to hear the truth...don't ask the question. It doesn't make any sence.
Are you that confused that you want to hear the truth, but when you read it it scares the crap out of you?

His dumb*** comment about women being lesser than men brought out a whole bunch of different posters: women, men, Christian, atheist, agnostic, and I'm not sure how many others ... and we all dumped on his sorry butt for being a sexist fundie "black pot!"

Have you any doubts now that, if it ever became necessary, we could all fight side by side, together, for a mutual, good cause?

(work with me ... I'm a hopeless optimist.)

I respectfully submit this question. Is your belief in God based on an absolute knowledge that God exists or a feeling that God exists?

First I have nothing against catholics ok? My very good friend is catholic, I just don't like the catholic system/leadership. I would like to share something with you. I am in Italy in the army and currently there is this priest that the vatican wants out of the church. Now get this they won't him out because he got some woman pregnant. I don't know if she is his girlfriend or finace or what. But he won't leave the church, which is the right thing to do. So what I am telling you is that I was told by a catholic that marriage is not forbidden but discouraged. But as you can see it is forbidden by the vatican which is your headquarters.

There is this picture I have got
It really caught my eye when I
saw it. It is an Indian picture and
it says this on it.
Your religious calling was written on plates of stone by the flaming finger of an angry God.
Our religion was established by the traditions of our ancestors.
The dreams of our elders that are given to them
in the silent hours of the night by the great spirit,
and the premonitions of the learned beings.
It is written in the hearts of our people, thus,
we do not require churches - which would only lead us
to argue about God.
We do not wish this.
Earthly things may be argued about with men, but we never argue over God. And the thought that white men should rule over Nature and change its ways following his liking, was never understood by the Red Men.
Our belief is that the great spirit has created all things,
Not just mankind, but all animals, all plants, all rocks,,,
all on earth and amongst the stars, with true soul, for us all life is Holy.

We were just told that feminists can't be true Christians. We can't cherry pick the bible and ignore other passages! True Christians can also do this:
Mark 16:17-18: "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover"
Mark 16:19-20: "So then after the Lord has spoken unto them [Jesus' disciples], he was received up into heaven, and set on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following"
Luke 10:19: "Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over the power of the enemy: and nothing by any means shall hurt you"

True Christians handle snakes. Since "nothing by any means shall hurt you" this means any injury is a sign of a false Christian...

3 nights ago i had a strange dream that i had a beloved pet badger. a very long dream. the next night i dreampt about the badger again, only it wasn't my pet, but someone else's and i was somewhat upset over that. then last night i had a dream, and in it, i looked outside my bedroom window and saw the green man, only he was a scary demon faced green man - very scary and my hubby couldn't see him. my hubby woke me up screaming.

yesterday in my office, i lovely bat flew in and landed on the wall in front of me in the middle of the afternoon. i managed to safely take him back outside. this morning, a spider came down from my ceiling on his web and sat beside me in mid air, and at the same time, there was suddenly a giant black cricket on the floor chirping at me.

are these signs from the gods? what do they mean?

Is it a religious thing or was it just designed to make sure women saty virgins. Which don't get me wrong I'm not judging anyone, I'm just curious. I mean I think its horrible but I wasn't raised in Africa and I'm not aware of all their traditions and everything. I just was wondering if it was religious. Do women over there believe that it was meant for them. Do you they agree with the practice? I can't see how they would but then again I don't live their lives and i can't really say.
