"That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" THESSALONIANS 2
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." MALACHI 4

First verse... it says there must be a falling away first. After Christ died his apostles were the head of the church, but soon, because of the wickedness of the people they were killed. Now, they had a special authority, the priesthood. But they were never able to give that authority to anyone else. So there was a falling away from the truth. There was a lot of confusion. But in1820, it was resored when Joseph Smith Saw God, and Jesus Christ. He soon, under their direction formed the church, with the same authority and keys that the old apostles had. There was a falling away from the truth, between those two periods. People searched for it. Hense the great number of churches.
Now the second verse speaks of temple ordanences. Sealing husband and wife, and children to eachother. so they could be together for all eternity. This was a key that Joseph Smith recieved when setting up Christs church.

The wonderful Jewish people are still waiting for Elijah to come. We as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe he already came to restore the sealing keys, following the Great Apostasy and the subsequent centuries that preceded the Restoration of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This passage of scripture is ever so clear> Before Christ comes again, there will be a general apostasy away from his truth and teachings. And in addition, before his return, the truth will again be restored to the earth. This has been accomplished and Christ's church is here again.

First verse: Telling us to be comforted and then warns about the adversary...Satan.
Second verse: Talks about sealing power that is used in LDS temples. IT binds families together. Elijah already came over 100 years ago.

Oregon Flower, you seem to lack the understanding of what the question is asking. Nowhere in your answer was anything related to the actual question. All your answers about the LDS church come from your hate.

After studying many faiths and doctrines, I believe the Mormons have the only answers to these verses, so you can forget "others".
And I believe those answers are apostasy and restoration.

Mormonism directly opposes Biblical Christianity.
When they want to believe differently, they twist the Bible to suit them. Like believing that Christ is the brother of Lucifer, even though the Bible clearly states that Christ is NOT a created being and Lucifer IS.
Mormonism is a CULT, designed by Satan and carried out by Joseph Smith and his minions.
EDIT: You dear souls have all heard the truth about your religion, yet you cling to false teachings as if you had no choice. Leaving takes tremendous courage and faith in the REAL Jesus of the Bible!
May God be with you.
