Coveting of wives, camels, donkeys and similar chatels of men is forbidden by one of the 10 commandments in OT.

I believe in Islam the blame is on the wife who, by showing her attractive face and bautiful legs, put those thoughts in my mind.

Who is right?

It's not what you think but what you do....surely a man is more righteous if he has improper thoughts but is strong enough to resist the temptation of acting on those thoughts!!!

It is easier for a man with no improper thoughts to be without sin than one that does!!!

Don't be ridicuous. Stop trying to blame others for your own misgivings. However if you are a Christian then of course you are still righteous as your righteousness depends on Jesus not you. If you are any other religion then I guess you have to earn you righteousness in some way.

Well OT is tells us regardless, we are supposed to have the power and right state of mind NOT to covet.

But I think that if she's out there flaunting her stuff for show then YES its kinda her fault because that's probably the effect she is going for: to be desired.

But then again, if she wasn't ATTEMPTING to be desirable, then its NOT her fault. Someone can not help if they are so attractive that someone wants them.

Am i making sense???

Your thoughts originate inside of you. No one can MAKE you think of anything you don't want to.
To blame someone else for your thoughts is to say you are not responsible, and that does not hold water.

gouge your eyes out with a spoon; you'll be more righteous if you can't see things to covet.

If you saw my neighbor's wife, you'd prefer the camel.
