Both the Bible and the Qur’an prohibit the eating of pork. Muslims are aware of this prohibition and observe it strictly.
However, most readers of the Bible say they do not know where they can find this in the Bible.

In the book of Leviticus, chapter 11, v. 7, it is recorded that
God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in
verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their
carcasses; they are unclean for you”. This command is
repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then, in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 6:17, God issues a stern warning against those who
eat pork.

Some people are aware of this prohibition from God, but they
say that they can eat pork because St. Paul said that all
food is clean in his letter to the Romans 14:20. St. Paul said his because he believed (as he wrote in his letter to the
Ephesians 2:14-15) that Jesus had abolished the Law with
all its commandments and regulations. He seems, however,
to have misunderstood what he heard about Jesus. In the Gospel According to Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus is reported to
have said quite the contrary, as follows: “Do not think that I
have come to abolish the Law . . . ." Jesus then went on
in that passage (in verse 19) to denounce anyone who would
break the smallest commandment and teach others likewise. He also praised his true followers who will practice and teach even the smallest commandment. One of the
commandments, as we have seen, is to stay away from pork.

This is why the true followers of Jesus, holding on to his teachings, did not let unclean food such as pork enter their
mouths, so that Peter, the chief disciple, can say, “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean” (Acts of the
Apostles, ch. 10, v. 14)

Five chapters later in the Acts of the Apostles, 15:29, we find that the original disciples still differentiate between clean
and unclean foods, and this time Paul is in agreement with
them. Six chapters later, in ch. 21, v. 25, their decision to
impose food regulations on believers is mentioned without
regret, and this time Paul is challenged to prove that he is in
agreement with them; and he demonstrated his full agreement with them.

What remains, then, is that Jesus, on whom be peace, upheld the prohibition against pork. His disciples also upheld it, and so must all his followers. Those who fail to uphold it need to be informed and reminded of this rule from God.

I try not to eat pork but sometimes it happens. Pigs are scavengers and they have no sweat glands. They'll eat anything including each other, their body's are toxic. Someone did an experiment where they took 4 young pigs and put them in individual wire crates. Stacked them on top of each other. Then for about 4 or 5 weeks only fed the pig in the top crate. At the end of the experiment all 4 pigs had grown and weighed in about the same and were all healthy. This is a test " do you know what the other 3 pigs ate" So when it comes down to eating pork its not just a religious thing, it a health thing.

Both in the Old Testament and in the Koran are explicit statements that forbid eating pork.

Initially, when the first Jews became Christians they observed all the Jewish rules. However, the Christian faith quickly spread and attracted believers from other cultures, mostly Greek and Roman who enjoyed eating pork (among other things forbidden to Jews). This caused much tension in the early Church and in a council of the apostles in Jerusalem it was decided, that all a Christian had to to abstain from food polluted by idols (= food that had been sacrificed/offered to another deity, before it was eaten), from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. (see Acts 15 for more detail)

Caveat: Many Christians I know don't mind eating blood (in sausages e.g.), and even after the council in Jerusalem, Paul argued in his letters that eating meat sacrificed to other Gods was fine, too, as long as nobody else in the congregation was troubled by it.

It is in the dietary laws in the old testament with the Ten Commandments....

unclean animals is still unclean and not meant for food....

many have misunderstood various verses referring to clean and unclean and the application of the old laws being nailed to the cross...

The Gospel was for the Jew / clean and the Gentile / unclean, this did not refer to the animals but to not call any man unclean ....

the sacrificial and 'Special" Sabbath laws were nailed to the cross, they were fulfilled....but people take that to mean the Sabbath day of worship was canceled...it was not....

Unclean is still unclean today...cat, dog, rat, pig, vulture, skunk, squirrel, clam, crab, lobster....these animals are the clean up crew of the environment....they eat dead and filter waste......

Christians are not to eat that which is unclean either.....

check the statistics on how many diseases vs how many meat eaters / pork eaters....you would be surprised....

then check the statistics on the kosher / vegetarian health.....

God knew what he was doing when he gave us the law....we get sick and blame him for our dumbness....

This is a direct answer to your question.
Act 10:9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
Act 10:10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
Act 10:11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
Act 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
Act 10:15 And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, [that] call not thou common.

Acts 11: 9b-15. It's a little loop hole that the Christians use. Convenient, no? There seem to be so many of those... Like how the commandment states Thou shalt not kill Exxodus 20:13. And there isn't anything after it such as 'unless it's your enemy or unless they've done you wrong first.' Yet these people took their "promised land" by killing the nations that lived their first. Somebody tell me how that works out. And the ever loving Jesus kills a fig tree just because it wasn't bearing fruit out of season. Sure sounds like a lord I want to follow....

I am a muslim and from my experience alone and not other muslim,In the beginning when the prophet gave the message from GOD to his follower, regardless the Jews, christian or muslim , Pork is forbidden meat to eat. I does not know much about the bible or other Holy books except Al-Quran but did any prophet eaten any pork in your holy book? or did Jesus ate any pork meat in his life times such as Jesus sayings"behold ! my peoples, I have eaten this pork meat which was given to me by Mary , in which I cut off the long nose and sliced it thinly, reserving it for sandwich later on."come on guys, did Pork meat exist in trade market back then?of course it did exist in market back long time ago but jesus and the rest of the prophet did not touch the stuff. The christian probably decided later on that Pork meat is very good commidity bringing a lot of revenues in their pocket and the Priest decided to go along with the government and probably said Jesus died for your sins so why worry so much. You people made the sins, jesus will pay with his blood,in other word , you get traffic fines and jesus will go to jail.Lucky you guys did not make up a story that GOD have a daugther and he sacrifice her to the people sayings "Please be gentle with her, just ten guys per day cause she also needs her rest and behold that I ( GOD ) is very nice, willing to sacrifice his son and daugther for the people benefit" You son of a........( 'a' for Adam )

JESUS DID NOT EAT PORK!

Those of you who state that Jesus 'abolished' the Jewish dietary laws are rewriting history. Jesus followed all of the Jewish dietary laws and as such he would not have eaten pork, nor mixed milk and meat, nor eaten certain kinds of fish.

The idea that Jesus somehow abandoned the Jewish faith is utter rubbish, and is an idea that grew popular long, long after the Romans killed him.

So if Christians wish to eat pork, by all means, enjoy!

But get your facts straight and don't rationalise it by claiming Jesus ate non kosher foods. He was born Jewish and he died Jewish.

Because Jesus said, "It is not what goes into a man's mouth that makes him unclean, but what comes out of it."

Jesus made the point that the words that come out of a man's mouth are a direct indicator of the real condition of his heart. A man may look real good on the outside and appear holy, but inside is vileness. Man looks on the outside, God looks at the heart.

Jesus fulfilled the law, so we don't have to. Any religion and its followers that do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah are still bound by the law and must live in bondage to it. Jesus is a new law, a law of freedom.

God bless you.

Some have speculated that God forbade certain foods because of the fact they had to be cooked just so in order to be "safe to eat". Things have changed a lot in 3000 years, obviously. Pork is still not good for a person, to abstain from it would be really good for one's body. No wonder the New Testemant says "all things are lawful to me, but not all things are expedient" (good for me). Most likely a person walking in the spirit of God 100 percent of the time would not eat pork.
