Friend,
Mantras are not Jokes to read from books and feel happy .
Please do not experiment with any mantra.
Mantra is a Sanskrit word .It means.....'' Mananeyna traayatey mantra''
That means by constant repetition of these letters they will protect you''
Every mantra will have what are called Bheejaaksharams (Seed letters),,,the sound vibrations created by reciting them will be so powerful that the will give the required benefit when The Mantra is to be obtained from a Sadguru as a Upadesham. Then only it works.Do not be under the impression that just these are printed in Panchaangam and other Books now a days, so let us try.do not kindly play with these powerful sound vibrations.Approach a sadguru and if the Guru feels and satisfies that you are eligible to receive the Mantra he will give Upadesam.
Nobody can prove for you any Mantra here in YA.It is purely a personal one and not for exhibition .no one takes your challenge.
You see the power of the mantras when you see the persons who have got Siddhi or mastered it.

Mantra is a word or verse that firms/fixes your mind /thought on a specific matter of idea and moulds you into what you want to be. the part "Man" refers to the mind / thought ."Thra " referes to amking it fixed or firm.
Modern psychologists have found out that the process of suggestion has a telling effect on teh mind and that it makes one believe in what is constntly told .manthra is an auto-dsuggetion that trains yur mind in aparticular aspect of your thought , character , understanding and feeling .This is a sort of brinwashing by self for the good .It is said that what you think , that you become. This mens that if you firmly think that some thing is right and somethking exists , you see it happen.
The ahindus chant mantras in the name of god .The sound of the mantras themselves have a telling effect on the mind and nerves of the individual .you know hat the infra sound and ultra sound are used in the health applications. When yu hear some meelifluent music , your mind is so much involved in it that tears roll down from your eyes involuntarily either due to extreme feeling of joy or sorrow .Sound has its effects and the sounds of sanskrit mantras have an effect an that no other language can poroduce .For a proof of the efect of this , just attend some elaborate rituals and homoms in some hidnu temples and listen tothe chanting of the mantras.Even if yu do not understand themeaning of the sanksrit words uttered , you will surely feel the effect of the chantig of he mantras in your mind .Certain things are tovbe experienced and can not be told . If this particular point is to be expalined by an analogy in a more detailed manner , it might be considered to be a violation of the community guidelines .So I leave it to the readers to think deeply about this point .

A mantra is usually a single letter syllable which produces a unique sound and produces certain vibrations which have the capacity to influence the mind and body behaviour.
Mantras can be used to produce a stilling state of mind, or to increase the capacity of concentration and many other uses for those who work with them over a long period of time.

Mantra is a term used to describe the repetition of a particular word, phrase or a concept.
The word AUM also called the primordial sound by Hindu sages is an example.
The power of the mantra cannot be quantified but they say that it helps in concentration. With concentration & focus you can achieve inner peace and have clarity of thought

The word mantra means something like "training the mind." It is the repetition of a word or phrase to keep the mind focused during meditation. Although the word is of Sanskrit origen, "mantras" (or short prayers) have been used in certain forms of Christianity. (Read up on the Desert Fathers and the prayer of the Heart). The rosary can be said to be a mantra. The Hindu/Buddhist equivalent of rosary beads is called a "mala" (a word that means "flower garland") The rosary beads or mala is just an tool to help a meditator keep focused on saying the prayer or mantra.
The mantra sometimes goes with meditation of a spiritual ideal. In highly ritualistic or shamanic forms of Hinduism and Buddhism (and other religions) mantras are used during rituals and ceremonies in a way prayers and gestures are used in western relgious ceremonies. Sometimes mantras are also used in shamanic or magical practices. Their "power" depends on the focus, power, and know-how of the person using the mantra.

A mantra is essentially a chant. The most commonly known one is "AUM," or sometimes spelled "OM". It's a type of Yoga, which is essentially a way of reaching an altered state of consciousness.
One says the mantra in a certain way [Usually deeper, and kind of mechanically] over and over for a long period of time. Eventually they will have said it and heard it so much that they will begin hearing it in their mind, and get lost in the noise.
Different Mantra's have different effects as well. As I recall one mantra of Kali, supposedly has a side effect of ridding your meditation area of things that want to hurt you.
Sometime as mantra is combind with visualization. It is always combined with an asana though, either a half lotus or a full lotus.
There is obvious proof mantras work. Franciscan nuns and buddhist monks have been tested and their brainwaves to go to a different state [Alpha state, as I ecall.].

There is nothing like a mantra. If something can be written in Sanskrit, it can be written and spoken in all languages. You can not achieve anything by reading a phrase, unless you know the meaning. If you think mantras are the language Gods or devil understand, that is height of stupidity.

mantra is the chanting of a very revered/holy word. it could be a deitys name. eg: Ram Ram, Harikrishna, Om,...etc.
it has the power to drive away evil spirits, ghosts, etc. when you are in dhyan or doing the rosary(mala), you chant the mantra of the God you believe in. it is also a form of bhakti (devotion to God.)
