I have not decided that mine is correct. Only that it is right for *me*. I've no proof that my beliefs are any more valid than the next persons. I would not begin to think that I know which, if any, god(s) is the right god(s). I may very well die and find out that what I expected, will never happen because I am wrong. I may die and find out I was right. Or, I may die and not find out any thing at all, because there is nothing there and death is the end. I've no way of knowing, so I will not claim to be correct. Only say that it feels right to me.

I'm not sure what you mean by "ultimate answer".
In a belief system you don't go by just one thing. You need to take into account everything that we as humans experience. There are unanswered questions in every belief system even in science. So what does one do? See which one you think provides you with the best answers. Certainly not an easy thing!

Because there's a clause in almost every religion that says there is no other way. "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me." "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is His prophet." Etc.
Religions are mutually exclusive - at least, the "exoteric" forms of dogmatic religions. If we accept such-and-such as "God," all the other candidates aren't even also-rans.
This in spite of the fact that many religions agree on many points. It seems most reasonable to me to look at different religions as different "languages." They're all describing essentially the same experience; only the terminology changes. The problem is the tendency to imagine that one's own language is the only "correct" form of expression.

good question..
I have researched many religions before choosing Christianity. I've heard some say, 'well, it's true for you'
There is no "The truth for you."
2+2=4 is a truth. This is not subject to interpretation.
One can say I don't believe you have the truth but truth is just what it is, truth.
Christianity has a rich history which started with the jews at the beginning of time. The bible is filled with historical facts that Archaeologists use and has been proven very reliable. We have over 5000 documented ancient findings of scripture, many in different languages, all the same. WE have the dead sea scrolls to prove this also. The Vatican just bought 2 gospels dating 90 ad, the same as we have today. There is prophesies that has come to pass from the bible that proves it's reliability. Over 300 just for the man Jesus.
We have non christian evidence of Jesus from Tacitus and Josephus both historians. And a Governor named Pliny the Younger who all wrote about "Christos" and his followers the Christan's.
Archaeologists have found the tomb of Caiaphas who was the Pharisee that brought Jesus to trial.
Jesus WAS a real person who was an historical figure. Even well read Atheists KNOW this.
We have eye witnesses who had every thing to loose by claiming to be a follower of Jesus. Why? When Jesus was killed they scattered. Afraid. BUT when they saw he was resurrected they became bold. Why?
Since the bible is reliable, and Jesus WAS here you must decide.
Was he a nut? A liar, Or who he claimed to be.
For me, I personally have had MANY supernatural experienced with God/ Jesus. So many in fact I started keeping a journal.
God is real, Jesus is The Christ and there is salvation in no other name.

I was thinking of this very question!
I believe there are many roads to God, but that the one I take (Baha'i Faith) is the most enlightened and mature road. However, certainly other roads lead people to salvation. I've been Christian before, both Catholic and Protestant, and have read a lot about Islam, and I do believe that the Baha'i Faith is the deepest and most profound road to God.
All roads work, but I find the deepest blessings in the Baha'i Faith.
Besides, I've also found time prophecies to have been fulfilled in the Baha'i Faith. I can't argue with that!

well some religions can't give you the ultimate answer.
for me I found that Isam give me all the answres that I ask in each perspectives:
- current life. - last life.
- telling you why you are alive and for what?
- telling you that a human has a value.
- the morals . - communication skilles with my friends, parents, wife, my children, with old men/women.
- bringing up my child.
and many things.. its interest.
good luck...

Some were raised in a certain tradition and don't know anything else.
Some were raised in a certain tradition and were told they'd be bad people, or burn in hell, if they ever *considered* anything else.
Some people think they've had supernatural experiences that confirm their beliefs.
Some people just find comfort in their beliefs.
But for some, it's just self-righteous arrogance. They're the worst ones.

Christianity professes to be the answer for the dilemma of 'sin.' It is the 'Religion of Sin and Redemption' as Schliermacher puts it. Many religions do not use that paradigm at all, and find it frankly confusing!
So Christianity is only good for you, if your concern is sin. If you are sinless, DON'T TROUBLE YOURSELF ABOUT CHRISTIANITY!!!

Many of us have had personal encounters and experience with Jesus. There are people who are just raised a certain way in a Religious household and the influence of what they are taught is very credible to them, depending on if their parents were credible to them or not. There are many reasons people believe what they do. Everyone should seek for truth on their own. I believe we will give an account to God for what we know and what truth we accepted or rejected, and why. I believe he holds us personally accountable to seek the truth. No excuses for ignorance.
