How can we have true separation of church and state when the term " In god we trust" is on our currency and we are prompted to acknowledge the existance of god when being sworn in court?

Amish woman and girls sit on one side of the mass the left, the men and boys on the right. They all face forward during the service until a male opens the (GOOD) book. At the moment the cover is lifted all the woman and girls shift in their seats and look away, then face forward when it is closed. Now I know this is just another example of the yoke of religion on females. And when woman are asked why they all reply because my mother did, no other reason. The most fasinating thing about the Amish is that they live more to the teachings of the bible than all the other bible offshoots even the first christians the Catholics. Now some will say the Catholics weren't first but every one knows that all others are break-aways. If the world acually lived like the Amish this would be a better place. Why do you think they look away?

OK so the origins of both things is unknown (the origin of the matter which created the bang and the origin of God)
There is evidence for both (for the bang, scientific and for creation, spiritual)
Both have mass amounts of pheasable and unreasonable arguements.
And both are completely illogical (the big bang; the matter came from nowhere/just was there... Creation; God came from nowhere/just was there)

So how can anyone claim that the big bang or creationism is anymore logical than the other? isn't the logic of both of them near enough the same?

God is supposed to be loving, and forgiving. How can He send one of His own children to hell if they haven't made the best descions in their lifetime?

I haven't lived that holy of a life. I sin on a daily basis, but deep down I'm still a good person and apologize to God at the end of the day for anything I may have done.

Shouldn't God only send people who are truely evil with no remorse to hell? If He sends good people who happened to have made huge mistakes within their lifetime to hell, does that make Him evil?

I am really tired of Muslims lying and telling all Non Muslims that Muslims are encouraged by Islam to read the Bible (Old testament and New testament) and Torah. To begin with let me tell you that the Old Testament in the Bible is basically the Torah. The new Testament is the birth and life of Lord Jesus that every Christian is supposed to follow. If a Christian does not follow the New testament he cannot rightfully call himself a Christian.
Also the Old testament(Torah) does not contradict the Quran(Koran). The New Testament contradicts the Quran a lot. For example: The old testament has the law of Retaliation( an eye for an eye), In the New testament Jesus says The law of retaliation should not be applied, The Quran however says the law of retaliation is valid. The Quran does not have teachings of Jesus even though he is a Prophet.
So when Muslims say the Bible should be read by Muslims that is a blatant lie. What they mean to say is the Torah(old testament) should be read?

worshiping God, then find out hes not real and spent eternity just dead, what have you wasted?when you die, you will be remembered as an outstanding person. and if you spend your life worshipping then go to heaven, look at what you wouldve gotten-eternity in hell! why not choose the lesser of two evils and just believe? its not hurting anything. and its your soul your messing with here!

inspired by an answer to my last question.

You have a woman, she smokes and drinks and isn't going to stop just because she is pregnant. Would you rather her have the baby, birth defects and all, or abort it so it doesn't go through any of that stuff?

Why is it that when you ask anything about God, non believers automatically get offended.....even if you werent saying anything about what they believe or don't believe. Atheist somehow think it is ok for them to voice their opinion on the subject and how dumb we are to believe in God, but if you say anything about the subject you are somehow "disrespecting" them and what they believe....we as christians have a right also!! I don't expect to see eye to eye with people who don't believe there is a God, but i wouldn't disrespect what you believe. Treat others how you would like to be treated.

I heard more that as long as you're not cussing and the musiq is clean that it's ok.

and that's why I heard that artists like Musiq Soulchild, Talib Kweli don't cuss in their musiq and make positive music with a message.

and also why Nas though he did make a few songs like the other rappers most of his material had a message and he heardly ever cusses at all same with Freeway.

What are your thougts?

Do you all agree that there is an unfortunate "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality here on Yahoo Answers R & S?

There's a reason that we call them "beliefs". It's because we BELIEVE something to be true, but we have to keep in mind that we aren't always going to believe the same way.

I just wish we could see a little more tolerance, and a little less self-righteousness.

I know that nobody can truely know for sure, but I'm truely scared of death.

If nothing happens when you die, it's just blackness for eternity. And eternity is a long time, and you're soon forgotten. I can't even wrap my mind around how long forever is.

If you go to heaven or something of the sort, sure you're happy and with people you love, but don't you think you'd get bored? Remember, we're talking FOREVER here.

If you're reincarnated, then everything that you've loved and all the great memories you have are forgotten.

I need some clarity in this subject, any answers are welcome.

The majority of Christians believe in some form of Hell. Some believe the "fire and brimstone" nonsense, and others believe that the seperation from god causes the non-believers to suffer. However, my Mother is an Christian, although she is extremely moderate, so most likely she will be going to Heaven if Christianity is true. What I don't get is if she's in Heaven, how can she be enjoying it since her son, me, is burning in Hell for eternity because I refuse to believe in the Yahweh creator. So, would my mother in fact be depressed in Heaven? Is that even possible? If not, then why not? Does she forget I ever existed? Does she cease to care about my welfare? Are either of those acceptable alternatives?

Some of you have a bad habit of trying to threaten those of us who do not believe as you do with an imaginary punishment, after we're already worm food, that was made up a few hundred years ago. Pitiful.
