The majority of Christians believe in some form of Hell. Some believe the "fire and brimstone" nonsense, and others believe that the seperation from god causes the non-believers to suffer. However, my Mother is an Christian, although she is extremely moderate, so most likely she will be going to Heaven if Christianity is true. What I don't get is if she's in Heaven, how can she be enjoying it since her son, me, is burning in Hell for eternity because I refuse to believe in the Yahweh creator. So, would my mother in fact be depressed in Heaven? Is that even possible? If not, then why not? Does she forget I ever existed? Does she cease to care about my welfare? Are either of those acceptable alternatives?

All of us will attain the spiritual level known as heaven. We just won't all get there at the same time. Its like 4 people are all going to the same destination. 1 takes the bus, 1takes a plane, 1takes a train, and 1 walks. They're all going to experience different things during their journey and all are going to arrive at different times, but they're all going to get there. Does a good shepherd lose even one of his flock? The reward to the people who have tried hard to live a moral life is they get there quicker. Others may have to go through many life experiences to learn what they need to learn and it will take them longer. Sorry, theres no hell. God loves us too much. God would never do this to us, only man is capable of such horrendous acts.

I recently read about this very question in a book about Hell. The author stated it was not a comfortable subject and would probably be hard for us to understand right now, but his explanation was helpful.

It goes something like this:

In heaven, we will be perfect and will have a perfect understanding of all things. We will understand God’s mercy and His justice. We will know that those who remained faithful and kept His commandments are rightfully rewarded, and that those who did not are also rightfully rewarded, even IF they are our family and friends. The very thought of the possibility of seeing someone I love be condemned turns my stomach, but the possibility is real (even the possibility of my own damnation). We all have the same choice: love and obey God, or reject Him. We WOULD understand why some were saved, and why some weren’t, and we WOULD see that God’s justice was right.

You thinking as a live person living on the earth. not as a spiritual one. Most likely she would be so overwhelmed by the most intense great feels from God, and God well not let her feel sad for her son he will take away the pain. Don't forget it's the son's fault he' s not in heaven don't pass the buck to the mother or God. Everyone takes responsibility for there own soul, it's the one thing that you have totally control over so choice wisely, its all up to you now.

Hell has a limited time, and hell has a purpose concerning salvation. It is a place for those who will not recognize God as having ultimate authority over what happens to a person.

Israel becomes a whole people only at Christ's second coming, a whole House includes everybody born into that House. Ezekiel 37 has about 12 verses that describe the process of bringing life into somebody who is in the grave.

This verse describes a promise to Israel that is fulfilled at His return (the ones brought back are the ones in these verse, the slaughter of the innocents ,

M't:2:16:
Then Herod,
when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men,
was exceeding wroth,
and sent forth,
and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof,
from two years old and under,
according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
M't:2:17:
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet,
saying,
M't:2:18:
In Rama was there a voice heard,
lamentation,
and weeping,
and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
and would not be comforted,
because they are not.

Jer:31:15:
Thus saith the LORD;
A voice was heard in Ramah,
lamentation,
and bitter weeping;
Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children,
because they were not.
Jer:31:16:
Thus saith the LORD;
Refrain thy voice from weeping,
and thine eyes from tears:
for thy work shall be rewarded,
saith the LORD;
and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
Jer:31:17:
And there is hope in thine end,
saith the LORD,
that thy children shall come again to their own border.

The land of the enemy is death, not some Heathen land.

The promise that the Nations will be whole (only after the thousand years) is in Hebrews 12, the ones being chastised are unrepentant Heathens. Isaiah 65 also covers these same people, it explains why they were excluded from life on earth during the thousand years and what they will live like after their sins are forgiven, loss of the breath of life being the price they pay. Read it for yourself, they in that chapter are 'the rest' of Re:20:5

In short, can you see yourself coming to believe in somebody who causes you to die and then revives you to full life? Can you see yourself in either situation those two chapters describe?

God sent Jonah to hell for 3 days, that was enough time for him. The 1,000 is a safety net for those that Satan will deceive, if those there were brought back before the end of the thousand years then Satan might be able to do the same again during his 'little season', a time of much more intensity than the coming tribulation.

Your Mother will be able to endure the thousand years without you because that is the whole of the time she will be without you.

Isa:54:1:
Sing,
O barren,
thou that didst not bear;
break forth into singing,
and cry aloud,
thou that didst not travail with child:
for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,
saith the LORD.

It is only after Judgment Day that the Nations are lead to the living water, that is when they become a 'whole' people,

Re:22:2:
In the midst of the street of it,
and on either side of the river,
was there the tree of life,
which bare twelve manner of fruits,
and yielded her fruit every month:
and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

I know you do not want to hear the truth, for it is obvious you have already rejected another truth--that God is. You Mother assuming she is a Christian is responsible to tell others of Jesus. Perhaps she has told you. She cannot make you or any be a born again saved person. Her job is to tell, only. When her life is over she becomes not your dead flesh mother but a recipient of a glorified body with everlasting life with God. She is no lone tied to the human emotions or memories. No, she will not be up in heaven looking over your welfare, that is still your responsibility. Why should your mother be punished for a decision you made on your own? Heaven is of joy and worship, not worries of a wayward son or daughter, a mother or father who lives in sin, or uncles and aunts who have not accepted Jesus, it is joy and worship of the Father. Sorry you will not be there to join her but it is your decision.

Firts of all, I want to say that I believe in Heaven and Hell. There is only these two places. You can't do anything by yourself to deserve Heaven. God is a loving God and He want you all the best. He want you to go to Heaven. When God is calling you, all you have to do is to answer his call. Believe that God sent his son to wash away all sin.

I believe you mother would not be depressed in Heaven, since according to the Bible there is no sorrow in Heaven. If there were sorrow, it wouldn't be Heaven.

I don't have kids, but I wouldn't be able to enjoy heaven if Gandhi and all of the past Dalai Llamas was suffering for eternity in Hell, and that is pretty much a set thing... So I guess I'll see you down there.

The bible speaks of the cloud of witnesses cheering us on in spiritual matters. I believe that we will be able to stand for those not yet in heaven.

There is also the scripture of Lazarus in Abraham's bosom. The rich man could see into heaven from the chasm of hell and ask for a drink of water for his burning tongue. Again we see that people are fully aware in heaven and hell.

I am sure that your mom is concerned with your welfare now. Here on earth while you still have time to make a decision for Christ. To think of our children lost, is one of the most grievous hurts a parent can have. Why wonder what she will be worrying about when she is gone from your life. Wonder what she is thinking now.

I was intrigued by your question. I can just put together a few things to munch on, not a full answer, that you will get there..

. If your mom prays for you, God will answer. You are not your own, you are bought at a price.

. Eternal life starts today, and it means to know God, and the one he has sent.

. God is love, any other view is wrong.

If your question is genuine, I am confident you will get a genuine answer,
Ed

She can enjoy heaven, because we will know who is there but we wont know who isn't there. Heaven will be a place of eternal bliss. However these are just speculations, we will never really know until we get there.
