Scientists say they are 10 years away from creating a single celled life from from scratch. One Harvard University Professor says making a cell membrane is easy.

Now, how does the scientific aspect of Creationsim and Intellegent Design grab you.

Where does this leave the Randomists and Darwinists who say life "just happened" you'll HAVE no PROOF, but SCIENCE will have proof that an INTELLEGENT BRAIN can make life.

How does that grab you, Richard Dawkins.

How does that grab you everyone.

INTELLEGENT DESIGN as a REALITY, to be TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS with FORMUALS

CREATIONISM for LIFE to be TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS

How do the hard core DARWINISTS who can't prove RANDOMISM deal with this reality that is about to hit us from SCIENCE!?

I read that in someone else's response. I think any controversial subject can and should be debated, but that's only my view. What do you think?

Many , many , times Christians say to me "read the Bible, pray and you will know the truth." Or something along those lines.

Well....since I was raised as a Christian missionary child
I have almost the whole Bible memorized.
Yet I still don't believe in it.
I've prayed countless prayers, all through out my life.
Yet I still don't believe in it.
I've looked for the "truth" in this God of yours.
Yet I still don't believe in Him.

So now what?

I'm curious as what you have to say, now that your all-purpose for all questions that aren't as you like for them to be, "answer".....is now obviously not an answer for me.
( or countless others. )

Though I am now a happy Buddhist I am still interested if there is anything else you think that would help me to see what you see in your religion. I'm open. So pray tell me!!
Thank you.

xx-Bo.

*Note* I wrote that I am a "Buddhist" not "atheist".
There is a difference.

But I know, that I'm a very good person, that cares for others. Can you go to heaven without a religion and/or without being baptized?

Before you blast off with "man hasnt created a machine smarter than man", realize this, that within only two years we will already have little chips that can do more calculations, having more computational power, with more data storage capacity than the human brain.

Wait again...before you start rambling on about the "soul" just understand this, that there is absolutely no support for the existence of a "soul".

Artifical Intelligence is a scientific discipline in and of itself, and has been for sometime now. The progress of AI has lead to the fear that someday, machines will have self awareness. Given the undeniable inertia of AI, one can hardly call this an irrational fear.

Machines already do thing we cant do...its just a matter of time before they can do everything better than we do. Why would God declare humans to highest in his creation, making us in his image, just to allow us to make give birth to something greater?

Since monotheists believe in only one God... then my belief is that they all believe in the same God... even if they don't agree on it!
AND that since they believe in ONLY one God... then His being must be infinite...

The reason I'm asking this question... is that I have seen some stupid answers here on R&S... no offense!
I'm a Muslim myself... but the stupid answers that I have seen were from both Muslims AND Christians...
Sorry... I haven't seen from any other...

Anyways...
If God's being is infinite... if His power, wisdom, knowledge, etc. is infinite... then how can some of u come up with these crazy answers which limit His being?

e.g. A Muslim who said "Its impossible for Saint Mary (pbuh) to know of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) bcz she lived more than 600 years before him."
Doesn't Quran tell u that Saint Mary (pbuh) was in contact with God through Jibril?
Then how hard is it for God to reveal this matter to Saint Mary (pbuh)?
WHY DO U LIMIT GOD?

"Sermon Comment"

After a very long and boring sermon the parishioners filed out of the church saying nothing to the preacher. Towards the end of the line was a thoughtful person who always commented on the sermons."Pastor, today your sermon reminded me of the peace and love of God."
The pastor was thrilled. "Nobody has ever said anything like that about my preaching before. Tell me why."

"Because it endured forever."

I think a more important question is, why is there anything at all. If it's 1 universe, or 1 universe plus God, the fact that there is something rather than nothing, to me, is extrodinary.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (English Standard Version)

Did you notice that? "Let US make man in OUR image, after OUT likeness." There is a plurality here that surprisingly had never been removed from the Bible no matter the translation. The Christian Bible - quite accidentally here - acknowledges that ALL gods are one God.

If you believe you have found the only true way, shouldn't you be joyful and at peace? Why do you care what we think about you? Why would you care what we think at all? Some of you are trying so hard to convence us that it seems you are really trying to convence yourself. If you are so full of doubt look into your own heart, don't take it out on people that really don't care what you believe. Go in Peace

On September 1, 1842, Joseph Smith said, “…for to this day has the God of my fathers delivered me out of them all, and will deliver me from henceforth; for behold, and lo, I shall triumph over all my enemies, for the Lord God hath spoken it.” (Doctrine and Covenants, 127:2). The last phrase “for the Lord God hath spoken it,” indicates that this is prophecy. Here, Smith has prophesied that God would allow him to “triumph” over all his enemies. Less than two years later, these same enemies stormed the Carthage, Illinois jail where Smith was imprisoned and shot him dead. Smith tried to fight back, shooting 3 of his assailants and killing 2 with a pistol smuggled in to him, but his “enemies” triumphed.

This is a false prophecy.

Is one false prophecy enough?

Under Christianity if I don't accept Jesus as my Lord and saviour it's straight to Hell, under Islam if you've researched as much as I have and know all the "facts" of Islam and ignore them (even if you are a person of the book) you go to Hell (albeit their path to Hell isn't so straight).

I've been told by Christian religious leaders the if I pray the Holy Spirit will show me the way, so far this hasn't worked.
