...on their underwear are sacred? Their first "prophet" Joe Smith was actually thrown from the Masons because he used their symbols in his new religion.

They also think they'll be gods of their own planet and THEIR god lives on the planet Kolob with his many goddess wives who are eternally pregnant.

Their Jesus is counterfeit and is the brother of Lucifer, not the Biblical Jesus who CREATED Lucifer.

Let's face it, the Noachian myth is ridiculous on every level. The physics, the math, even the weather!!! Scientists know that such an incredible amount of water covering the globe would make the humidity levels in the atmosphere too high for air breathing creatures to breathe. Not to mention the salinization of all the arable land, making it impossible for most vegetation to grow for quite some time.

So the typical Christian response will be, "god makes anything possible."

Okay, fine. If that's the case, if this incredible, magical being can make anything happen, why choose such a ridiculous, long winded method of destroying the world? Why not simply ignite the atmosphere for 30 minutes, and make Noah and his menagerie fireproof?

Maybe, just maybe, the authors of the bible felt god "wiping sin from the earth" would be most convincing through an absurdly long, but still plausible "diluvian" event, thus instilling the necessary awe and fear into the often rebellious masses?

There Guys died at the same time and ended up in front of Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates. Saint Peter said to the first guy, " Why should I let you in?"
The guy answered, "I was a doctor and I helped many people get well."
Saint Peter said, " Okay, you may come in."
Saint Peter said to the second guy, "Why should I let you in?"
The guy answered, "I was a lawyer and defended many innocent people."
Saint Peter said, "Okay, you may come in."
Saint Peter then said to the last guy, "And why should I let you in?"
The guy answered, "Well, I was a manageed health care professional and I helped to keep health care cost down."
Saint Peter thought about this a moment and said, "Okay, you may come in, but you can only stay three days!"

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world... John the Baptist said it.

Wouldn't John have used the term "Lamb of God" just as Jesus used it? Whenever Jesus used the term, it was with reference to protection (as the Good Shepherd), not sacrifice. John didn't get along with those who did those sacrifices. Why would he be using the term like they did?

Jesus was speaking in terms of "Mercy, not sacrifice." God forgives our sins when we forgive others. I think Jesus and John would be thinking along the same lines.. How about you?

Once upon a time, God created a beautiful forest called the Garden of Eden. In this garden he took soil, made a man out of it and breathed life into it. God called him Adam. God brought all the animals of the forest to Adam to name them. Later, God saw that Adam was lonely, so God made Adam sleep and took a rib out of him. He turned that rib into a woman. Adam named the woman Eve. They didn't even know they were naked! God told them they could eat any fruit in the forest, except the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If they ate that fruit, they would die that day. One day, a talking snake asked Eve if they couldn't eat any of the fruit. She said no, just not that fruit, because they would die. The talking snake said they would not die, they would know good and evil. Adam and Eve ate the fruit, saw they were naked, and hid themselves. God came walking through the forest and said where are you? He knew. God made them leave, so they wouldn't eat from the Tree of Life.

No matter what religion you belong to, what are your personal views of Atheists? Do you look down on them, distrust them, care less, or maybe it depends on the person? Just wondering!

It's just that I'm beginning to see very strong patterns.

Just remember that we do not always INTEND to insult others, but still manage it somehow sometimes.

And ummm... by 'religion', I mean religious stance, so Atheists you are included in this.

Time to try again.
Religion, god, jesus, and the bible.
All these subjects are yet to be proved to me. ive tried once to get answer, get proof that they exist, but people seem to think that posting "just have faith", or "he died on the cross for you, and you still dont believe" have any belonging here. lets explain something. this is a place to ANSWER a question, and "just have faith" isnt an answer.

im currently a lost baptist, struggling to hold onto my faith, but i find more and more things to sugest that god is only a form of government used to keep us from doing things that we enjoy. (for example, withcraft). the way i see it, unless i can find some sort of proof in the form of literature that god is real, then i value life toooo much to risk not living it to the fullest, as i cant be assured that there is anything after life.

please, help me regain my faith, and prove to me that god is real.

Dear God:
I know that I'm a sinner. I deserve Hell. But You sent Jesus to die for my sins. I believe that He died and rose again. I ask you now to forgive my sins, once an for all. I now receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Personal Saviour. Please come into my heart and save me, Help me to know I am saved and live for You, the rest of my life. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

Do you know if you are predominantly Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic or Phlegmatic? Also, do you know how the classic Medieval temperaments were devised (i.e. who and when and why)?

Can you really prove to me that something that "doesn't exist" doesn't exist?

Being an atheist sure is hard work. We in some way are able to make statements about fictional objects without having our sentence declared either devoid of meaning or false.
