Before you blast off with "man hasnt created a machine smarter than man", realize this, that within only two years we will already have little chips that can do more calculations, having more computational power, with more data storage capacity than the human brain.

Wait again...before you start rambling on about the "soul" just understand this, that there is absolutely no support for the existence of a "soul".

Artifical Intelligence is a scientific discipline in and of itself, and has been for sometime now. The progress of AI has lead to the fear that someday, machines will have self awareness. Given the undeniable inertia of AI, one can hardly call this an irrational fear.

Machines already do thing we cant do...its just a matter of time before they can do everything better than we do. Why would God declare humans to highest in his creation, making us in his image, just to allow us to make give birth to something greater?

3 Billion neurons, each of which has at least 10 synapses. Thats 100 trillion synaptic connections. When you calculate the different orders those can fire in its along the lines of 10 to the 14th power. One significant difference is that computers use electrical signals - brains use electro-chemical signals. You are leaving out the impact of monoamines on the function of the brain - it goes beyond computational speed and data storage. You have a point - but I believe you are overemphasizing it.

Obviously, the machine is not alive and living. It is not a sentient, moral, being with a true everlasting personality. Machines are only greater than man in the temporal sense and in a very short sighted view as well as only in specialize ways. They will never be as well rounded and self sufficient as humans. They won't live through all the stages to get to eternity the way a human's soul will... Machines will never, ever, be even close to that of the great creation humans are... for the simple fact that everything a human does is imperfect. How shallow a thought to think machines could ever be all or more than humans. This is very narrow viewed... and very shortsighted about what humans really are!!! And let me remind you, how in the world will a machine ever learn to love, to be sad, really truly cry, or to be hurt or angy or to feel? Can a machine or will a machine ever be able to experience and know from experience? Will it be able to intuit? Just what makes you so sure a bunch of nuts and bolts could ever be higher or more cherished than the cells you are made of? A calculator? How shallow a thought.

You started off well but got bogged down with God-thing.Any way,It's possible that in future man made machines can surpass human capabilities or even be better than them in many ways but to say that a machine can become superior to a man in totality is a bit far fetched at this stage. As of now,we don't know every thing about the human brain, as well as of mind then how can we incorporate this unknown knowledge in to the machines we shall be building.Again,we can have machines better than humans but there seems little possibility of machines replacing humans in TOTALITY.Incidentally, who told you that that God did declare what you ascribe to him ie highest creation and all that. What if tell you that there is no conflict between spirituality and science, except what we,the humans have created. Basically, both lead us to SEARCH the universe and cosmic creation.

Machine can never be greater than man because it is designed and controlled by the man.All the machines are the extension of the human concious .What we find in the machines is already present in the human concious .Machines are fatal only when the man has forgot how to control it.Machines have made the human labour easy but can never replace as the machines dont have the valuable conciousness!

You have realized that, man can make little chips that can do more calculations, have more computational power and have more data storage power than human brain. You meant that, electronic machine can be greater than human for being more powerful than human brain in some functions.
But did you notice that, besides brain there are other parts in the human body. Example, hands, legs, fingers, nails, teeth etc. Human use some of these organs to protect selves and to attack others. But, human made knives, guns, bombs and other weapons centuries before which are more powerful than human hands, human nails and human teeth. So, should we say that, those weapons are greater than human?
Nope, nope, nope.
Everything human made and will make are tools to serve human. Human is the master of everything except God almighty. Human is greater than anything they make, because human is the controller. Please don't forget the difference between logic and fallacy.
I appreciate your thoughts and pray to God for you to give you the right knowledge and logic.

No man said God declared man his greatest. Personally I think if I was a god I would give the planet an enema.

Machines will one day surpass us yes, But since we have yet to figure out the Human brain, who knows what its capacity is?

There are nothing more then ideas and theories so far, on the brain.

A machine is only as smart as what man put in it. It was made to do exactly what is required. No more no less. It is the abuse that will kill us! Machine has no emotion or feelings. Self awareness is not probable. artificial intelligence. Just like computers they can be faulty. Shut down in life and so it is with science.

They still do not come close to what the human brain is capable of. Silicon is not distracted.

BTW, just think what these machines could do if we just let them sit around until they evolved into something even greater.

man made machine
man updates machine
man controlls and directs where machine should be used
therefore man is greater than machine
without man's updates and controllings machines are useless..

There is no computer made which can process and retain information like a human brain. You're misinformed.
