In Leviticus 11:9-12 god says shrimp is an abomination, the same word he uses in Lev 18:22 refering to gay sex.

So, I say Christians protesting gay sex, but why don't we see christians protesting red lobster and long john silvers,

is it because christians are really homophobic and not really about gods word, cause i see a lot of these hypocrites eating shrimp

Isn't there some sort of sexual activity that goes by the name "shrimping?"

There are a lot of things in the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, with which you can nail fundamentalists on. There are also some Christian denominations in which homosexuality is a non-issue, at least where I live, in Canada. But up here, the whole thing about homosexuality is not as big a deal as it is down in the U.S. of A. We have gay marriages up here, and R.C.M.P. officers who wear turbans (if they're Sikh) and a whole other bunch of things that would drive Americans bαtshit crazy.

EDIT: I just looked up "shrimping" in the Urban Dictionary. It can refer to sucking someone's toes and to something that I don't even want to think about, let alone describe.

Actually you are misquoting the Bible: Lev 11: 9-12 Says that those things, that do not have fins, are detestable. Lev 18:22 Says one man that lies with another is an abomination. Major difference there. I guess that is why you chose to misquote. Oh well, God still loves you.

When the bible and heterosexual males refer to an act which is an abomination, they mean an act performed by homosexual males. Females get a pass.

For that type of act, the abomination is technically not in the act itself. Herein lies a certain amount of hypocrisy.

When a "straight" guy says that a certain homosexual act is abominable, he is referring to something that his female partner would not let him do despite frequent attempts with various methods, including gifts, liquor, and violence.

What the "straight" feels to be abominable is the fact that one of the gay men in the act is doing it with another male, instead of a female.

There is an element of jealousy in the revulsion and we "straights" really should admit it.

Why can't we just live and let live?

God repeated in the book of Romans the abomination of homosexuality. But He spoke to peter and removed the ban on shellfish. Next time actually reads gods word first then give us a call

Rove, the Lord allowed a lot of things in the New Covenant which were not "sinful" in nature, but part of God's cultural and dietary protection of the Israelite people.

In Acts 10, Jesus clearly makes it known that he is not requiring new believers to hold to the Old Covenant dietary laws. The apostles repeat this in later places.

The dietary laws are not the same as moral laws.

This is why lobsters aren't covered on the ten commandments.

Okay. What have the lobsters done now? Denounce god for not saving them from the boiling water? Or, do they just not like crabby patties?

Many of the food restrictions from the Old Testament were changed or have been altered.

It is because of Paul's vision after his conversion where God was supposed to have told him it was okay to eat foods that were "unclean" in the Jewish religion. It was also this same vision that Paul used to justify his preaching Christianity to those who DID NOT BELIEVE IN THE JEWISH GOD.....
