I think I am reading this question right. In reference to the What if! LOL

He's always existed!

Are you going to ask me to prove it? In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. In the beginning was the word, the word was with God, the word was God.

Either you believe the word of God or you don't. It's called Faith big P.

Isobel your avitar tells it all; an angry woman. Taking the Bible out of context? In the beginning which tells me He has been there from the start! He has always existed. What came first the beginning or the middle or the end?

My name is USE_ME_FOR_GREAT_WORKS!

Thanks P for straightening me out. Many appologies to Isobel.

i find it funny that when such an outwardly simple question is posed people either give you bible verses that are completely out of context or give a completely unimaginative, unoriginal answer that really shows no intelligen thought. i applaud you for asking this question!
my answer to this question would be that God came from man. yes man, i_have_problems or whatever your name was, just like the Bible was written by men. i'm sure you have heard this kind of thing before but when man somehow became able to communicate and have intelligent thought he realized that there were things going on around him that he couldnt explain. naturally, he was frightened of the unknown so he invented stories about deities who had ultimate power over him.
and then, things got a little out of hand with later generations...

Deuteronomy 4:35: "You—you have been shown, so as to know that Jehovah is the [true] God; there is no other besides him."

2 Samuel 22:32: "For who is a God besides Jehovah, And who is a rock besides our God?"

1 Kings 8:60: "to the end that all the peoples of the earth may know that Jehovah is the [true] God. There is no other."

Isaiah 43:10-12: “YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.”

Isaiah 44:6: "This is what Jehovah has said, the King of Israel and the Repurchaser of him, Jehovah of armies, ‘I am the first and I am the last, and besides me there is no God."

Isaiah 45:5: "I am Jehovah, and there is no one else. With the exception of me there is no God. I shall closely gird you, although you have not known me."

Revelation 22:13: "I am the Al′pha and the O•me′ga, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."

Just in case you thought that the Bible is old-fashioned or that Jehovah God is lying...

2 Timothy 3:16, 17: "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

Numbers 23:19: "God is not a man that he should tell lies, Neither a son of mankind that he should feel regret. Has he himself said it and will he not do it, And has he spoken and will he not carry it out?"

Deuteronomy 32:4: "The Rock, perfect is his activity, For all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; Righteous and upright is he."

Hebrews 6:18: "it is impossible for God to lie."

So here we have it. There was no God before Jehovah neither will there be one after him. Jehovah God has not beginning nor will he have an end. He will be here until time indefinite. Isn't that amazing?

The bible says he always existed. And before you criticize me about that being impossible, then where'd the universe come from? If it was from the big bang, why wasn't there something before that too?

2007-09-04 18:01:26 · answer #5 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

An interesting question. Please let me know if you get any good answers. I have never heard anything except "he has always been here". But, since they claim that the universe couldn't always exist therefore it had to be created - I don't see why they feel that they can break the rules in this case.

Oh well. ..

I wholeheartedly concur with Alan.

the_problem_solver, your post did not address the question in any way, and furthermore, consisted of nothing but petitio principii, more commonly known as begging the question.

"We are all part of the One Spirit. When you experience the true meaning of religion, which is to know God, you will realize that He is your Self, and that He exists equally and impartially in all beings."

Mr Pee:
If God were to actually tell you where that He came from, could you verify it?

That's the question they can't answer. They will say he always was but then you can make that claim about anything.
