Non-Muslims are constantly pressuring Muslims to reprimand extremism. Most of us DO! But there is no concept of a hierarchy in Islam like many other religions (Pope, Dalai Llhama etc).

What this means is that there is a heightened pressure on the media to cover these Muslims and help their voices heard? Why then does the media continue to ignore us and plaster the news with ignorant Muslims?

It's cuz they want the damn ratings. People WANT controversy. So maybe it isn't all our *fault* in the end. If they wanted our voices to be heard they'd give us a shot to explain it..but they don't. I'd be glad to see ANYONE from my community but I never have.

Peace.

I have been pondering the question of whether or not there is a god for the past 3 or 4 years, and have not found good, solid proof one way or the other. If you have any GOOD, SOLID, INDISPUTABLE proof that there is a god, or there isn't a god, please write it here.

For a long time now, I've had a "feeling" of destiny. I'm not arrogant, I don't think I'm above anyone, and I do my best to get along with everyone and promote peace. In other words, I'm not full of myself. I've just had this feeling for a long time now that I'm sort of "destined" for something that is going to be very important. I am sure it has to do with religion, but that's about it. My belief in God is extremely strong, and my faith is never shaken. I've also had two dreams of the Prophet (saws) and other odd dreams set in those times. So why do I keep getting this feeling? It's always there, no matter what. Even now, I'm in extreme pain from an accident and painkillers won't help the pain, but I still have that feeling. What can this be?

A father asked his son where God was. The son replied he didn't know. The father told the son to fill a glass with water and salt and to leave it there over night.

The next morning the father woke the child up and told him to get the salt he put in the water. The kid went to the glass and told his father he couldn't see the salt.

The father said to taste the water from the side. The son said it was salty. The father told him to drink from the other side and the son again said it was salty. The father told him to drink from the middle and a third time the son said it was salty.

The father replied that although he could not see the salt it was still there, just like the salt we can't see God but He is everywhere.

is it ok for someone that believes that there is really a God to:

-not go to church every sunday.
-pray on special occasions.
-believe that there are such things as ghosts.

my parents are not very religious so i've decided to take the religion more seriously as i get older. i am also an only child. sometimes when i am very confused or angry about something i will pray to the lord, but not during mealtimes or anything, and i'm not sure whether or not it says anything about ghosts in the bible.

i would really like someone's opinion on this. what do you think? thanku!!!!

Here is a horrible picture of their prophesied Armageddon featured in a September 1, 1997 page 23 Watchtower magazine:

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f328/jaconami/1997_wt_sept_1_23_large.jpg

It also warns, “The fact that these dramatic events could begin to occur tomorrow should affect everything we do or plan to do.”

Another magazine the cover of the May 22, 1994 Awake! magazine showing photos of 26 children, with the caption: "Youths Who Put God First." Inside the magazine glorifies Witness children who died supporting WTS policy. They say that the children died for God, but the Watchtower society would in fact allow blood fractions years later that might have saved these children's lives.

To any Jehovah’s Witness trolls that post I’m lying or ‘Slander’, checkout the magazines for yourselves. I am speaking absolute truth.

I’m sorry but I wouldn’t let my kids die just because an organization that’s had so many changes in their policies says they are directed by God.

How can we end their hatred of us? Is there anything we can do to save their souls (and convert them into Christians) before it's too late?

My late-dad's name was Richard.

I lost contact with him when I was 15. Last time I saw him I was 28 - I didn't know he had cancer- I turned up without an invite - he wouldn't speak to me- he hurried me away cos my step-mum was due back.

About a year later, I started crying in my sleep- I'd wake cos I felt I was drowning with all the tears.

Then I woke up during the night, saying: "Don't cry Daddy, don't cry. It'll be alright." I sensed he was in pain. That went on for a while
(I didn't know where he was living cos he'd moved).

Then I suddenly sensed he was dead. I flung myself into the corner of the room and sat on the floor sobbing for ages...

Then I felt he was guiding me- telling me what to do, step by step... so I did as instructed...

& that led me to do a book - which in a wierd way relates to his work- or to be exact, about what he knew but didn't act on cos he couldn't (due to his job- his employers wouldn't have approved).

I want to make it clear first that it's not getting to me, because a couple of other questions concerning this gave people the impression that this was upsetting me. It's not, I am just genuinely curious as to how people can actually think this way. To those who hate entire groups of people based on news stories and stereotypes, should I assume you weren't all that great in school? Any thinking person who is observant can easily see that not everyone under a label is alike. I keep seeing things like "All Muslims want to kill all NonMuslims" and "All Muslims commit suicide". Uh, hello? Tell me one time, any single time, that any Muslim on here has tried to kill you or threatened to find you and kill you. IF anyone here did that, they'd be in jail. And if all Muslims commit suicide everyday, ummm, how are we here then? Did it ever occur to you that the reason things are NEWS is because it's unusual? If it was commonplace in a country, no attention would be given. Are you ok?

Supposedly, the VI = the roman numeral 6
the S = Sigma, the Greek value of 6
the A = the Babylonian 6
What do you think? Any truth, or convenient coincidence for those who seek meaning of the 666...?

At the risk of offending christians etc, I can't help but be a little irritated when someone answers by blindly using a 6 paragraph verse from the 'good book'.

I mean, don't they have any thoughts of their own on the subject.
