No, Christians and Jews are people of the book. They have probably taken a Qu'ranic verse out of context, the one about not leaving your children with a non Muslim if you should die. Because you would want your traditions past down to your children.

Is this a question which by definition can only be answered by a Muslim. I am not a Muslim. So I won't answer that question. But having been raised as a Christian, I will relate to you an experience from my own childhood which I think is relevant.

In the Third Grade I had a friend who I came to love as my own brother. One day, he invited me to come to his home for lunch. I had to ask my mother for permission. She did not willingly approve, because his family was Catholic. I was offended by her and her attitude. We were Seventh-Day Adventist. This was 43 years ago. So if you want to understand this, merely do some research into the two churches history's. There was a time when Seventh-Day Adventists effectively considered Catholicism as Satanism. So you can see how unacceptable it was for me to even ask.

Thankfully, I prevailed. And I had lunch at Roger's home. We remained friends for a long time after that. So I give this as evidence that Christians have no right to question the animosities others may have against them. Because you merely need to recount the many atrocities committed by Christians against every other religious group on earth. Remember the Crusaders!

Allegiance to Islam does not forbid making friends with anyone. It helps to be a better World!
Islam predates Christianity by six centuries.
Many of the basic concepts of Jews, Christians and the followers of Islam have the same laws etc.
Also all of these Religions have a basic starting point with Abram and his sons.

I am not a Muslim, but I have a degree in Religious Studies with a focus on the Abrahamic traditions...it is my understanding that Islam, or in the Koran I should say, accepts Judaic and Christian followers on the basis that they are following the One True God, even though they have technically "strayed from the path of righteousness" so to speak.
There are varying degrees of schools of thought within Islam, just as in Judaism and Christianity, and each person's beliefs and interpretations of the Koran will vary regarding the view of Christians and Jews as well.

Plain and simple Islam and the prophet mohammad reffer to every other religon as infidels, extermist have warped these words to indicate its okay to 'murder these pigs' for jihad, and the bettering of islam..

Its west VRS east.

To my understanding according to the Quran, anyone who is not a Muslim or does not give their allegiance to Allah and Mohammad as his one true prophet is considered an infidel and worthy" of death.. A belief of Islam is that the earth and the original Black man was created by Allah, and that all living blacks are descendants of the tribe of Shabazz..They believe all White men are the devil and was given 6000 years to rule the earth. They also believe that Christianity is the white man's religion and only a true Asian can be a Muslim. According to the Quran, only Jews have mistranslated Scripture. Also according to the Quran, The prophet Muhammad supersedes Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ is not the son of God or a part of any Trinity. Sura 5:17; 5:116; 19;35.We are told that He was nothing but a slave on whom God showed favor. Sura 43:59.yet elsewhere we are told the Messiah is not a slave. Sura 4:172. Jesus Christ did not atone for anyone's sins, although He was himself sinless..Sura 3:46..Jesus Christ did not die on the cross, that he was miraculously substituded by Judas Iscariot for himself on the cross or God miraculously delivered him from the hands of the Romans and Jews before he could be crucified. Most Muslims believe that Jesus Christ was taken bodily into heaven without having died. Sura 4:157 So we see their belief, though it is totally against God Almighty and the writings of the anointed kings, priests, prophets of the Holy Bible and against the letters the Apostles had written to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and to every born again believer in this day and hour. Their true agenda is to make Islam both the rule of Government and Religion of the whole world..Paul wrote and said that anyone who has not the Spirit of Christ is none of His and has the "Spirit of Antichrist." So take note that their teachings is false and holds no Truth. They have the spirit of deception and are converting people over to a belief and a doctrine that leads them into eternal damnation and judgment.. Jesus Christ plainly stated, "I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life, NO MAN comes to the Father but by ME!

I wouldn't think so. Real Islam considers Christianity and Judaism fellow 'Followers of the Book', since they all share many stories and roots - Torah, Bible, and Koran (Jesus' life is acknowledged in all three religions, for example).
Look into Muslim Spain, for a good look into how all three existed peacefully, until hardliners off all faiths came in and destroyed it.

Not at all. I do have Christian friends (but not Jews yet).
Many people who are not familiar with the Quran or did not make a good effort to study it are confused about the issue of befriending people from other religions. Many of them make grave judgment on this matter.
To understand the issue of befriending the Jews and Christians , we have to study all the concerned verses together in light of the whole Quran.
Now, let's look at some other verses about befriending the Jews and the Christians, or anyone not Muslim (Submitter) for that matter. These two verses are regulating relations with any people, regardless of faith;

[60:8] GOD does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. GOD loves the equitable.

[60:9] GOD enjoins you only from befriending those who fight you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band together with others to banish you. You shall not befriend them. Those who befriend them are the transgressors.

And have a look on the following interesting verse:
[2:62 & 5:69] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

The Jews and Christians will be righteous people who can be good friends, they do not fight us in our religion or our homes. They can be our neighbors, colleagues, friends, co-workers...etc We will be good to them as they are good to us. We, all the righteous people of all religions ,can make the difference and make this world better by respecting each other, respecting the freedom of choice of each other, and remember that we all have the One and the same God.

God bless you.

Peace.
