There is a lot of male sexual frustration in strict Islamic societies.
Remember the genders are segregated from puberty onward. The women are all covered up. No casual contact with the opposite sex. There are still doweries and so a man who cannot afford to pay for a wife cannot get married.
No marriage, no sex LOTS of frustration. In my husbands' travels to the Middle East, he would tell me of internet cafes with young men, all of them watching porn- the only release they can get. Apprently what is also rampant is gay sex. In Morocco, Tunis and Dubai, he would get propsitioned VERY often by young men there. In addition, sex with livestock is not treated as a MAJOR offence in certain Arabic countries.
