"IF" true, what type of impact would this have on Christianity and the world, besides the vatican losing much of its pull and power. Is it true that it is mostly the vatican fighting this idea??

Over and over on this forum we hear, "The Bible can not be trusted by reason of the fact that is was written by humans".
Ok, now, if this is the benchmark of what can and can not be trusted as reliable information, then how is it that those who use this perspective to dimiss the Bible, place any confidence at all in any human publication?
Whether it is medicine (say the doctrine blood saves lives)
biology, or a respected reference work, like the encyclopedias, of any other well respected human writing, why the double standard, that the Bible can not be trusted, BECAUSE it was written by men, yet the writings of man that disagree with the Bible can be trusted, BECAUSE they were written by men?
Is not this the same as what the Bible believers are often accused of? Picking and choosing?

Not trying to start any trouble, but doesn't this seem illogical?

In some earlier Qs, I have proposed that upon death no personality could go to heaven complete, that it had to be diminished in some way for the following reasons: As there aren´t two people who could agree a 100% on the planet (Colors, tastes, forms and languages are interpreted subjectively for everyone of us), heaven would be ripe with revolution, or would just repeat some form of earthlike chaotic society, if personal instincts and personal perspectives were allowed free rein. Christians answered that the personality does not follow to heaven, that only the soul went back to its owner: god. However, after having interacted with several Alzheimer patients, I came very close to understand what is a mind stripped of personality, and it ain´t fun... at all. So christians, which one will it be: Do we go conscious to meet the creator and make a mess of things in his house? Or do we go as zombies and drool all over the place?

No verses please. Predigested info disgusts me...

A) To obey the "law of the land"
B) After 2 generations of polygamy, there was finally equality in male and female population
C) For Utah to gain statehood and the protection & rights that such entailed
D) The practice was a mistake in the first place, and the leadership finally realized it
E) It was God's will; we will find out in the Millennium and shouldn't worry about it. It's over and doesn't matter anymore.
F) Other?

This is just an opinion poll. No hate or disrespect intended. I've tried to phrase this as objectively as possible. This question does not seek to "bring down the Church," and yes, I've read the Official Declaration, conveniently located on the lds.org website. Thanks in advance!

Then they say "just because darkness (evil) exists doesn't mean light (god) doesn't"

And there they have thier answer to the "problem with evil".

My question: If God is everywhere, then light should also be everywhere, so there would be no darkness (evil) where there is light (god). Yet darkness *does* exist so where there is evil, because god is everywhere, there is also god there.

So, where there is darkness, because god is also there, God is this darkness?

How do you console yourselves when a loved one passes away; especially if they suffered a horrible fate (disease, blasphemy, injustice etc)? I mean...my only consolance would be that I will be rejoiced with them in the hereafter...that they are in a better place..

Don't you believe there is more to life than just..life? Is it a natural inclination to yearn for our rejoice in the next world; that we will be one happy family again? Instead of rotten worm food.

I see this happen all the time with creationist arguments. The following question includes a supposed quote from the Encyclopedia Britannica which is absolutely false.

Why is it necessary for creationists to resort to such fraudulent tactics? Will you really go to any length to convince people of your lies? Why can't you just honestly present REAL FACTUAL evidence and information regarding creation if it is so provable?

Please hear me out, okay? I am NOT talking about screwing around, I am talking about respectable adult company of the opposite sex. I mean, take this sceanario: your husband/wife is overseas working, and you both agree to remain 100% faithful physically (sexually), but you both agree you may have a friend of the opposite sex for company (like to go out and see movies, zoo, dinner...etc) nothing more.

I admit, this takes will power to do, and both partners must be honest and in accord, and faithful. Some could argue this is NOT being faithful, but I label it being real. What do you think about it? I feel sorry for people who have too little will power to resist being unfaithful when you gave your word to be so.

Sorry, I don't feel a lady accompanying a gentleman to a movie and dinner, and nothing else, is being unfaithful. It's up to you to let them know what the deal is, and check your own feelings.

In concusion:
In reality, the fossil record seems to fit the creation model well--the record is in fact characterized by abrupt appearances of fully formed organisms, with large systematic gaps(lacking transitional forms) between different types of creatures. Geologist David Raup, curator at Chicago's Field Museum of Natural History, explains, "Instead of finding the gradual unfolding of life, what geologists of Darwins time, and geologists of the present day, actually find is a highly uneven or jerky record; that is, species appear in the sequence very suddenly, show little or no change during their existence in the record , then abruptly go out of the record. Paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould further acknowledged, " New species almost always appeared suddenly in the fossil record with no intermediate links to ancestors in older rocks of the same region, the EXTREME RARITY of transitional forms in the fossil record persists as the trade secret of paleontology.
