You answered your own question in the original details. By mentioning the crusades particularly (and the others as well to some extent), you suggested that Christians (as a group) were murderers! You can't have it both ways...if the crusades prove that Christians are murderers, then Muslims are also murderers by virtue of 9-11 and other terrorist acts committed in the name of Islam...if Muslims (as a group) are NOT murderers, then Christians (as a group) can't be labeled murderers either because a group of Christians decide to murder.

In my opinion, neither groups are murderers. I'm a lot more familiar with the teachings in the bible but I've read the old testament (the shared part of our religious texts) and enough of the Qu'ran to accept that both religions speak out against murder. I'll concede that people can and have misinterpreted and even deliberately manipulated the teachings of the bible and specifically of Jesus to support "unGodly" behavior/actions...by the same token, I have no doubt that people could do the same with the Qu'ran.

If you believe that the Islamic faith does NOT support murder, perhaps instead of defending Muslims against the dirt that is quite rightly thrown at those who commit murder in the name of Allah, you'd do far better to explain why you also condemn their behavior! I can do a pretty good job of defending Christianity from the mistaken impression that the crusades or the inquisition prove that Christianity promotes violence and murder...but I don't know the Qu'ran well enough to do the same for Islam...perhaps that's YOUR job???

No one has said that christians are perfect.

Incidentally, the crusades were begun as an act of defense against the Muslims. The war in Iraq was to help free the Iraqi citizens. Christians didn't start either of the world wars.

I am so tired of this question. As if history justifies murder. So there are plenty of people in jail for murder. Does that justify my committing murder.
History is history. Like my mother used to tell me, "It ain't happening now". How can you justify all the murders done today by Muslims because of history? We're not doing it now. We've evolved, we can assume. Muslims are doing it now and need to be stopped.

Sending you a smile to help pick up your day.

Hmm yeah I see so many peaceful Muslim demonstrations going on.. Just like the one at a college where the Muslims stabbed a christian because he was there. Yes not murderous or violent at all.

Nearly every armed conflict TODAY involves muslims.

Interesting, huh?
