In some earlier Qs, I have proposed that upon death no personality could go to heaven complete, that it had to be diminished in some way for the following reasons: As there aren´t two people who could agree a 100% on the planet (Colors, tastes, forms and languages are interpreted subjectively for everyone of us), heaven would be ripe with revolution, or would just repeat some form of earthlike chaotic society, if personal instincts and personal perspectives were allowed free rein. Christians answered that the personality does not follow to heaven, that only the soul went back to its owner: god. However, after having interacted with several Alzheimer patients, I came very close to understand what is a mind stripped of personality, and it ain´t fun... at all. So christians, which one will it be: Do we go conscious to meet the creator and make a mess of things in his house? Or do we go as zombies and drool all over the place?

No verses please. Predigested info disgusts me...

I use the words "heaven" and "soul" and "god" because without them there is no dialogue possible. But you should be aware that I don´t believe a single word "revealed" by any religion.

What makes paradise "paradise" is determined by God, not us. I don't understand why differences would make heaven "ripe for revolution", since God is clearly (and directly) in charge and everyone there is obedient to Him.

Of course, in paradise we will not have "earthly" instincts, but this does not mean that we will be "stripped" of personality. Only "cleansed". As Paul made clear, we are "cleansed" before we attain paradise - our sinful, earthly selves are not fit for paradise. Some use the term "glorified bodies", but this also includes "glorified minds". Thus, *nothing* will be "intact" - all of our sinfulness will be left behind, both physical and mental.

Certainly, in paradise we have neither free reign nor the opportunity to "make a mess". This is God's Kingdom under discussion, after all, not man's.

personally I, a devout christian, believe that your personality is part of your soul, and that you will have the same basic personality, but probably without the bad stuff (like a bad temper, or mental disease and the like). I believe that God created our personanlities for us to have forever, otherwise what is the point of getting to know us.

Also, what makes you think that pepole with Alzheimers don't have personality, my grandmother recently died of Alzheimers, and even up to her last month she still had her same personality (except forgetfull and quieter). I didn't see her within her last month on earth, so I can't tell you how she was then. But I still loved her because she is the same grandmother I have always had. Jesus loves her too, and he loves you even though you are too stubborn to realize it.

Sammy sums it up well. You really are closed-minded when it comes to Christians, are you not?
I believe your profile. You really are irreverent. You care for no one but your own family and loved ones. That's cool, if that is how you want to live your life.

Alzheimers patients are not zombies.
You have no idea what Heaven is or is not like. You have no idea what will or will not happen in Heaven. You are merely speculating, as are we all.
