Then they say "just because darkness (evil) exists doesn't mean light (god) doesn't"
And there they have thier answer to the "problem with evil".
My question: If God is everywhere, then light should also be everywhere, so there would be no darkness (evil) where there is light (god). Yet darkness *does* exist so where there is evil, because god is everywhere, there is also god there.
So, where there is darkness, because god is also there, God is this darkness?

It's a metaphor depicting how there is darkness in absence of light. Like there is evil in absence of God...Meaning, that if someone is not having a relationship with God, is not trying to please God, doesn't have God's grace, and spirit, there is darkness/some form of evil...sin, bondage etc.

an alternative theory may bring clarity to this:
There is one Creator who made all things, both the light and the dark, and light cannot exist without darkness. this creator is perceived of in many different ways, in other words, has many personifications, so that every deity we perceive is but one face of the Creator. This would mean that "the devil" and "god" are just two faces of the same being. It follows therefore that yes, given that interpretation, god is the darkness as well as the light.

It does no good to use simple logic or science in an attempt to explain spirituality. Darkness is the absence of light. The absence of truth. Although many deny the light (truth) and live in spiritual darkness (deception and death). But God has authority over all things in existence.

Captain, you are not quite so obvious. Surely you realize the difference between spiritual and physical darkness. God is everywhere, and where He is there is Spiritual light. God is in the middle of one hundred midnights down in a cypress swamp. Its pretty dark there.

Darkness exists and evil exists where God is ignored. Where there is no light, there is dark. There is darkness in certain people and events and there is evil too, but this is from lack of God inside them.

Even in the greatest darkness there is always a small hint of light. (almost a quote from Kingdom Hearts, buy the game and play it if you haven't already). Light and darkness must coexist together, as does the perception of good and bad.

Im not a Christian but in the bible it does say that god is the alpha and the omega, opposites. So it makes perfect sense that the powers of good and evil come from the same source though they are opposites of one another.

Evil is: all your stimuli brought to the extreme after you cross over into abuse of what is right and what is wrong. God is: Something people need to believe in to keep them from the fear of death and being dead, and as a crutch to help them through their weakened understanding of life.
