They say they will let evolution do the rest. During the next 3-10 years, they will announce the success of the creation of life from scratch. How does this affect your religious beliefs? If we can create lives ourselves in just a few years, then doesn't this disprove your theory of God?

I hear Christians say all the time that everyone receives the word of God at some point or another and we choose whether to listen or not. So no one has an excuse, right?

Well let me ask you this...

When you die and go to the promised land... what if God explains to you that Islam was the one and only true way and that you should've chosen Allah." And then He tells you that you should've listened to that Muslim guy walking down the street who spoke to you about the Koran for all of fifteen seconds and you should've ignored being raised in a Christian environment all your life. How would you feel about that?

Consider the wife in a marriage where the husband is having consenting promiscuous sex. Is this not harmful to the wife possibly physically and emotionally?

Who is to say when someone is of age? Either physically mature or emotionally mature to have "legally" consenting sex.

Before the abrupt rise of Radical Islam that affected the USA how was religion killing in this country? a few radical christians bombing abortion clinics? what else???? Medevil and the Ancient World were violent as the prehistoric one..Hiltler , Stalin, were murderous dictators addicted to power and control...

I'm torn. I have been dating this man for about two months now.Lately he has been telling me that he wants me to go to Arizona in November to meet his family,friends,everyone.H... and I live here in California and he wants to move to New York with him next year.He asked me last weekend if I can have children.I'm a little hesitant because he has a really BADDD temper.He got mad at me and punched the wall.We went on an outing to the park. I told him that I needed to go to the bathroom.When I got back from the bathroom he showed me his camera.He had followed me and took pictures of me as I went to the bathroom aal the way until I went inside.I remember stopping to talk to a lady about her dog,he took pictures of that too.Am I jumping to conclusions or should I be carefull?

If Adam and Eve were the only human beings created by god, then we are all the products of incestuous relationships. Adam and Eve's sons must have impregnated their mother or their sisters if they had any and Adam must have impregnated his daughters to populate the world.

Deuteronomy 21:1-9 explains a vicarious ordinance in the case of a murder where the murderer is unknown and therefore not available for punishment. But before you answer: Is prostitution a moral or societial issue? Disallowing prostitution could cut down on STD's and cut funding to other socially harmful activities.

Think of other "moral issues" and decide if governemnt should keep their hands off.

Not sure if this belongs in R&S, but the statement was given to an R&S question.

first of all i like to regard myself as a christian. i say "God" and "Jesus" a lot. i use it in place of a curse word. like if i made a mistake or something. i am trying to stop but its really hard. i dont wanna piss of God, so tell me, am i really using his name in vain?

...you can still ask Jesus to forgive you and let you into Heaven. That is what I was told when I went to church. None of it is a lie, and this is a serious question I'm about to ask.

Logically, if you were told this, you would believe that there is no point to worship him until after your death. Then you would realize that can't be right, and that it had to be a lie. Finally realizing that this is ultimately wishful thinking on the part of that particular church, you would probably decide that it's possible other churches spread rumors of false hope as well.

My question is simple. How many false rumors like this have you encountered, and what are they?

To atheists, did you become atheist for similar reasons?

I've noticed that my granddaughter is bordeline breaking the first commandment (Exodus 2: 2-6) with her constant worship of Zac Efron. I am going to show her some pictures and movie clips of Marlon Brando when he was young, and then show her some pictures of Marlon Brando when he was fat and ugly. My whole point is that physical beauty is only temporary, but I don't know where to take it from there. Thanks in advance.

Do you know anything of the life of Jesus BEFORE he became a prophet? Many Muslims say that Islam discouraged slavery and that Islam had a long-term plan to end slavery on the long run. However, I realize that slavery did not end in Saudi Arabiya (the birth place of Islam and the most holy country for Muslims) until 1962.

Is that what Muslims meant by saying "long-term" plan?
