A lot of the questions on here deal with evolution. Do you think is should have it's own category, maybe in science, or (and I think this would be fun) in R&S?

I'm talking about God, evolution, and the meaning of life. What do they know about any of these things? Specifically: What is the meaning of life? Is there a God? And do you know if we evolved from apes?

I want to know too, because I hate (some of) them acting superior to me just cause I'm a Christian.

Evolution has too many facts that can't be denied but why do so many deny them? My grandma actually came to my mother's school and took her out of biology class because they were teaching them evolution. This causes ignorance and you lose your logical thinking part in your brain. There is evidence in micro and macro evolution. I found out my freshman year of high school, it took a 14 year old to out smart millions of creationists and other people.

I just have to share my testimony becuse I beleive that through faith nothing is impossible and God truly is amazing. My ex and I broke up almost a year ago and we have been hanging out and it didnt really work cos I wanted him back and tried everything to get him back to no avail. We started having really bad arguments and the last one was so bad that we were shouting at each other. He started dating this girl and he told me about it and it really crushed me cos i still loved him. So I prayed and everytime I paryed he was still in my heart. So i decided to pray and believe god that we would get back together. It was hard knowing he was with this other girl but i poured put my hearty to god and so many times i felt like giving up but am glad god gave me the grace not to. Becuse I have my man back and god truly is wonderful. I just had to share my testimony and tell people to keep praying and beleiev even ehen you cannot see a change cos GOD IS AMAZING!

I am an agnostic that wants a higher power (god) to exist but have some serious doubts. I've read the bible and I truly must say that I can not honestly believe in a book that was written by primitive people 2000 years ago, especially in the middle east.

I am not one of those people who has to see or experience something to believe in it, but it must be at least somewhat logical. I've examined both sides of the argument and apparently it just seems one sided to me. The best argument most religions can put up all point to old scrolls, testaments, bibles, etc.

I've asked god to come into my life several times. I keep an open mind as best I can and seek him. I've read the bible and other literature, but when I do this, it only makes me more critical. I know a big part of the Christian religion focuses on Jesus and other prophets, but I'm focusing more on god. What I am really asking for is a different way of looking at this so maybe I can understand

A resent answerer said that I would get sliced to ribbons if I stayed an unbeliever. Is that a good reason to believe? Why would god need to threaten me with a sword? He should just start hanging out with us here on his miserable creation, I'm sure he would get a few more believers.

Raised as a Baptist my understanding of a relationship with Jesus meant that a person became "saved". We accepted Jesus as the Son of God, believed that He had died on the cross to save us because we were sinners, and were baptised by full immersion. After my salvation and acceptance at the age of 8 I became very worried about my friends who were:Presbyterian, Catholic and Greek Orthodox. I asked them if they were "saved". They asked me, "What?" I asked the adults around me, "Will my friends go to heaven?" "They will if they are saved". That was a really fun time in my life as I tried to work out what "saved" really meant, and why my friends didn't understand what I was talking about.
Has anyone else experienced this escatological
problem? Have you resolved it in your heart? Do you have peace with this issue?

My pastor preached about hell yesterday, and he related a story (I think he said it was in one of John Bevere's books)about a person who died and began a descent into hell. There was some creature or whatever that took hold of him to pull him into hell, but then another (from the illustration I assumed it was Christ) also grabbed him and said, "He is mine, you cannot have him." This person was then revived after 45 minutes and remembered this experience.
Okay, previously in church, I have always been told that these NDE's are just a crock. I was SHOCKED to hear this story coming from this pastor in this church (a pretty conservative AOG church). So I'm just wondering, Christians, where does your particular denomination stand on this subject? Are NDE's real, or are they some kind of hallucination or spiritual deception?

Which of the following is worse:

A. Not believing in God/Jesus and being honest about it
B. Believing in God/Jesus but denying that you believe
C. Not believing in God/Jesus but claiming/lying that you do believe

Many Christians may have an opinion as to which of the above is worse but I am more interested to know if there is a Biblical answer to this question.

Options A and C are the options of a non believer. We can either be honest about the fact that we do not believe or we can lie about it. Which is worse? Or it worse to be a believer and deny that you believe?

So many go to church, even proclaim they are studying to preach, but yet they cannot live it, and fall into lying, and cheating people in their business. Isn't that a greater sin, to proclaim to be a Chritian, and go to church, but yet cannot forgive, nor live their faith. I am talking about someone very close in our family, and has held a grudge for over 6 yrs, not allowing children to talk to their grandparents, but yet, goes to Catholic church every Sun.,also a worker, the same, cheated me, and lied to me, was studying to become a preacher. Are they just pretending to be Christians. I am a Christian, and simply cannot do these things as it just is not in me to do live as they are doing, are they just pretending to be 'Christians, or really think that they are?????..

Nothing against religion. Everybody his/her own. It's just hard to understand, why religious people claim ( I am going to haven your are not), they are better. It creates a peer pressure in the US with 65% claiming to be religious. I don't feel that pressure in Europe (25% religious) and it makes for higher tolerance. Wouldn't it be better, to leave religion totally out of politics and commerce, as our founders wanted it?
