Does the contribute to the scientific vacuity of Intelligent Design?

Me and a few cousins were thinking over our family and how no matter how much they tried, they just didn't seem to prosper. Most people were spiritual and followed a straight and narrow path but it seems as though our entire family suffers. There are a few family secrets that we know of that may have hindered our family but I am not sure is generations can be curse because of what our ancestors did. That doesnt' seem fair.

but rape and orgies are fine as long as its heterosexual?

Genesis 19:4-8 is rendered as:

“ Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; and they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them." But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him, and said, "Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly. "Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof.

but many people do not believe in god? Why do you think this is? Why is such a universal truth to you so ridiculous to an atheist? Is this because you were brought up with religion or is it because you were simply looking for a way to avoid the reality of death?

I have seen a lot of Christians answer questions with this Bible
verse 2 John 1:7-11 I was wondering if some one could explain this verse to me because I think I am confused? I have seen some Christians use this verse to say that we should not hang out with (or greet) Non-Christians or Christians who do not believe in the Trinity. I do not understand how we could do this because there are so many people who are not Christian.? I really think I am misunderstanding this verse.. May be this verse means that we should not accept there beliefs & that we should just stick to our own? I dont understand how being friendly to some one could be wrong?
When I ask my self what would Jesus do the answer that come to me is to be kind, loving & respectfull to others.

I hope I did not offend any one with this question but I really would like some advise on this. Please answer respectfully, I really do not want to start a fight over this I just want to understand what people are talking about.

Call me sappy, I don't care. But I've sat here today and witnessed someone I have known for almost a year, and whom I care deeply about, fall apart before my eyes in this forum.

It hurts me to see this happen to anyone, but it's especially agonizing when this person is someone whom I am proud to call *friend.*

A year ago, when I was being trolled to death and ripped to shreds, he came to my defense, picked me up when I was down, and showed me nothing but the goodness within his heart.

Today, you call him a troll and have him deleted. While I don't agree with everything he says, I know just what a wonderful person he is, and I understand his hurt, anger, and frustration. I also understand why you take the stance that you do, and you are certainly within your rights to feel this way.

I ask you, just for today, will you try to see beyond the words, go past the anger, and reach out to those who seem to need it most?

You would be amazed at the difference a few kind words can make.

If christians are up in arms about the so called 'attacks' of the non believers then why do they not bother to convert them. If their faith is really true it should be easy to explain and convince others of its truth. If not then it is not really 'truth'

I once saw some documents and a video explaining the documents of how the illuminati want to create the rapture. Anyone know anything about this? It deals with depopulation, taking over holy sites in the middle east, and the final rapture to awaken lucifer. Thank you.

I already know this will anger at least one person but I am prepared for any comments on this. I recently became curious on what is Scientology? What was it about and what did the people who practice this do. What I found out made me sit here with a dumb look on my face wondering if this is real or some really screwed up joke. The fact that a "fantasy writer" someone who made up stories for his life has convinced people about aliens and dianetics, e-meters?? Is there really anyone who is 100% serious about this?? And if so what helped you in your choice to stick with this.

I saw this woman on tv, I hesitate to call her a televangelist because she doesn't fit the traditional image of televangelist, but she is probably mid to late 30's to 40's, long dark hair, and is very learned. She frequently refers back to the Greek text of the original bible to explain context (she obviously can translate from ancient Greek) and she has a slight accent though I cannot place it. I am fascinated by this woman because she seems highly intelligent and manages to make complex passages seem simple without talking down to the audience/congregation.

Why do none of the religions mention dinosaurs?

I'm not a religious person, I just find it funny that there's nothing mentioned about dinosaurs in Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, etc.

Then he could save more people.
If people can't go to heaven without accepting Him as the Savior, shouldn't He come earlier?
If people before Him can go to heaven, but they never know Him and never accept Him as Savior, then why should we accept Him as Savior?
Don't you think God isn't fair?
He gave us Jesus, but He didn't gave people before Jesus a Savior

Joseph smith claimed to be a profit, he also died in the United States. So if that is true which you claim it is, then the bible has to be wrong. The reason I say this is, in the bible it says that there will not be anymore profits after jesus. It also states that it is impossible for a profit to die outside the walls of Jerusalem. So either Joseph Smith is a liar, or Jesus is. Which one is it?

Did you know that there is as much mutually supportive evidence for the big bang theory and the theory of evolution as there is for the theory that the earth revolves around the sun?

In science, theories never become facts no matter how much evidence there may be because theories and facts have different meanings.

In science, a "fact" is an observation whereas a "theory" is an explanation of the observations.

Consciousness arises from brain activity yet there have been a lot of instances where people have said to be extremely aware of what's going on around them (even more so than normal) when they aren't supposed to have any brain function ( i.e. medically induced coma or any other operation).
Near death experiences or out-of-body experiences have all been documented and sometimes valided by scientists ( I know yall loooove your scientists).
Now, without brain activity, what would be left if not our souls?
