There are a few things: love, loyalty, devotion, compassion, courage, plastic bags from the grocery store.

> Well planets die off, new ones are born. What sustains the process?

First, in what way do planets 'die off'? Some planets are consumed when their star goes red giant or nova, but this is external destruction rather than death.

And new planets are formed as dust clouds collapse. This is an ongoing process not really influenced by planetary 'death' elsewhere. It could be argued that supernovae sometimes trigger the collapse of dust clouds into protostellar disks, but that's a pretty tenuous link.

Your hypothesis seems founded on weak premises.

I don't follow your logic. This is like saying "Since all dogs have eyes, shouldn't there be SOME that don't?"

>>Well planets die off, new ones are born. What sustains the
>>process?

Last I checked, planets are not "reincarnated". That's not how they're formed.

Is this some desperate attempt at trying to prove the existence of God?

Yes, their offspring, at least for a while. But they will start to die and decay too, so they need to produce their own offspring in time.

Energy doesn't. Energy is what sustains everything. It is the cause and effect of everything. It is constant. It never dies, it can change form, but it never dies.

No, because decay is necessary to bring about new life. Everything is constantly changing, dying, and being reborn.

No. The idea of consciousness transcending the physical death of the brain is utter bunk.

Think about the effects minor brain damage can have on an ordinarily intelligent, properly minded person, then report back to me, won't you?

No, since you explicitly postulated that everything decays. It follows that it would be impossible for something to exist that doesn't decay.
