Then he could save more people.
If people can't go to heaven without accepting Him as the Savior, shouldn't He come earlier?
If people before Him can go to heaven, but they never know Him and never accept Him as Savior, then why should we accept Him as Savior?
Don't you think God isn't fair?
He gave us Jesus, but He didn't gave people before Jesus a Savior

This question has many sections and it would not be fair to give you a partial answer. Before Jesus came to die on the cross, people were aware that a Messiah was coming. And just like now, many did not believe. Some 1,500 years before Christ's birth, old testament believers wrote of the Messiah(Genesis 3:15) and in order to obtain forgiveness from The Lord, they would go to the Sanctuary.
The earthly sanctuary-was symbolic of the ministry of Christ. Here are a few of the symbols:
-there was only one at the door, meaning that the only way to the Father was through Jesus.-the sacrificial lamb represented Jesus, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.-the laver represented His cleansing us from sin.
-the candlestick was Jesus, the light of the world
-the bread was Jesus, the bread of life,-the blood was atonement from our sins-once a year there was cleansing of the sanctuary, meaning the final cleansing will take place before Jesus comes again.
*When Jesus died on the cross-the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom(Matthew27:51) this earthly sacrifice was no longer needed.(Hebrews10:4) Now Jesus intercedes for our sins. These are the ceremonial laws that were abolished since they were no longer needed after Christ's Crucifixion.
*Our Lord in His infinite love and compassion, doesn't want anyone to be lost.(Ezekiel 33:11)In Old Testament times, there were people who never heard about The coming of a Messiah, and yet they will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Why? Because their lives reflected God's character. These were people who did not have access to the word of God(by writing or by word of mouth) Today, 95% of the world population/900 languages, already has access to this message. Everyone has the opportunity to be saved.
The plan of Salvation was instituted in heaven even before this world was created. This world always had a Savior and He is offering you eternal life.
God Bless.

I think Jesus came at the appointed time. There has to be a mechanism whereby all people who ever lived on the Earth can be saved, whether they were born and died before Jesus came or not. God, to be a proper God, wouldn't leave anyone out just because they happened to come to Earth at the "wrong" time.

God is ultimately fair and just. Otherwise, he wouldn't be much of a God, would he (she)? If the requirement for getting into Heaven is to know and accept Jesus, then everyone who ever lived will and should have that opportunity. If we didn't have that opportunity on this Earth during this lifetime, then it will have to be at some other point on our journey, perhaps after we die and approach Heaven.

If God is truly "God", he will have figured this out and we're all covered.

What you don't understand about God and the history of man is that God made provision for the forgiveness and redemption of sins prior to the cross through the blood sacrifice of bulls and goats and an imperfect human priesthood, called the Levitical priests. They certainly did see Christ throughout the old covenant temple worship and ceremonial practices. God did save people before Christ but provided a new and better way through the sinless sacrifice of Jesus the Lamb of God slain from the foundations of the world and perfect eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ the righteous. Now, instead of needing a priest to sacrifice for his own sins and then for ours, we can come boldly before the throne of God if we have the blood of Jesus applied to our hearts and then when God looks at us, he sees that the price of our sins has been paid, we are washed clean and white as snow, and then we can be in the presence of a holy God who cannot look upon sin. Jesus is the only mediatior between God and man. What a beautiful plan of salvation which the angels and all those who lived before the cross desired to look into but they were nevertheless able to feel God's spirit and presence and have relationship with him. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all knew God and went to heaven saved by faith in the One true God. Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, came right on time just as God's Spirit had foretold through prophets. Won't you accept this gracious opportunity to be saved by faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ?

Interesting question and here's the shocking answer - one does not need to believe in Jesus in order to be saved! Do you think Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David etc. will be in heaven? I believe so. And yet none of them had heard the name of Jesus since He was yet to be born! How? One needs to be true the light that s/he has received. Then why preach about Jesus? Because everyone who will be in heaven will be there because his/her sins were paid for by Jesus' death whether they heard about Him or not. Salvation is the work of God and only He knows who knows how much and whether or not he or she is true to that knowledge.

I have a very religous friend, and ive asked him a few questions about it. Back before Christ was born, people would pretty much sacrifice animals. They would basically put their hands on a sheep or goat or something, pass on their sins to it, and then kill the animal to free themselves from sins. God was pretty much disconnected from the people because sins "blinded him" i guess you could say, so Christ was sent to reconnect us. People were still connected through God before Christ came, but Christ was a different way of recognizing God. Hope that helps, im trying to go off memory from what he talked about. Maybe someone else could verify.

I dont think you understand the ones that believed in his coming before he came are just as saved as the ones that believed after he came. That is the very reason that God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac... If he(Abraham) could do it... then God could do it.

According to your logic Moses and Elijah wouldnt be in heaven but they were transfigured on the mountain with Jesus

Well Satan had to have his time there in the Antediluvian civilization I guess. Only God knows why but I do know that Satan had his fun there before the flood, he really mocked God and tried to destroy the human race with his demons/fallen angels etc... So badly that when I studied it, the demons at that time were able to have relations (clears throat) with human women etc...

So God saw Noah, then there was the flood and these are the way things have progressed since. It's Gods plan and he has made a way for us even with all of Satans games and efforts to destroy us.

Jesus came after to help when people started sinning

Before Adam there was no sinning, not until Eve ate the fruit off the tree and was tempted by Satan.
So there was no need for God to send Jesus before, because there was no sinning.

Jesus came to fulfill prophesy and the prophesy had to be made before he could fulfill it. Jesus was sent to earth by His Father at the time he was supposed to. The people who were before him had a way into heaven that no longer works now, sacrifice.
