It is much easier to claim one is being persecuted than it is to justify your belief system in a convincing and rational way.
Not all Christians claim persecution but the ones who do are very vocal about it. There are so many different viewpoints on this. I think part of the problem is a lack of consensus as to the meaning of some key words and the fact that much of spirituality is subjective and emotional.
The emotional attachment to a belief is not open to critical analysis. Different versions of Christianity have different beleifs about converting the unbelievers. Not all go door to door. Some just think it is up to God to change a persons heart.
It is confusing.

The problem with your question is that Christians themselves CANNOT convert anyone!
The only thing a Christian can do is plant the seed, and then step back and allow the Holy Spirit water that seed unto salvation...
Beating folks over the head repeatedly with the Bible does not a garden make!
Does the tomato plant grow any faster or better if you plant 2,378 seeds into one hole? No. Of course not...
When we witness, we tell a person about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, then we let them go, and let God do the work from there,. If we keep pestering, then we stop the Holy spirit from doing it's job.
Same theory with the tomato plant. If you went outside every day, and dug up the hole you planted a seed in, and dropped another seed in there, and then repeated that process every day, the plant would never get the chance to grow, because you chose not to water and nurture it.

I have noticed, as a christian myself, that in the US, people's religion are not part of their life & is just a routine. By what I mean is: all many christians do is just go to church on sundays and maybe pray once or twice during the week. that's what I have noticed.
what you are saying is correct!
if the christians would REALLY know the Bible and Jesus, then they wouldn't be feeling attacked, right? If they would know the bible for real, then it would be easy for them to answer their questions and wouldn't complain!
To conquer that problem, we need to pray everyday (at least once!). In that prayer we can ask Him to guide us in the day. Bring him into the week, not just on sunday mornings!
here's another thought: atheists usually become atheists because of what you have just stated. an atheist once said, " if a christian doesn't even KNOW this "God", then what's the point!?" so it's basically the christian's fault about it!

I am a Christian. Atheists are not attacking me. There are not armies of atheists marching down my street attempting to invade my home. They merely have a difference of opinion than I do. I do not believe in aggressively proselytizing anyone, and that includes atheists. On this site, there are trolls representing every imaginable group, including both Christians and atheists. One has two choices with a troll: ignore or answer them. But I refuse to go around panicking every time somebody's opinion differs from mine.

Your ability to convince someone could have nothing to do with the truth. Even Christ said the following:
Luke 16:31
"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

We do try to convert them, but they can't comprehend the idea of God and faith. All we can do is tell them about God. After that, it's up to them to choose what they will do.
So that means that those who can't help themselves attacking Chrisitans, must be the ones who need God so badly.

We tend to want proof for our belief in something.....concrete proof.
Religion, by its own nature, can not provide that proof.
Because if it could, then it wouldn't be called Faith.
