Nothing against religion. Everybody his/her own. It's just hard to understand, why religious people claim ( I am going to haven your are not), they are better. It creates a peer pressure in the US with 65% claiming to be religious. I don't feel that pressure in Europe (25% religious) and it makes for higher tolerance. Wouldn't it be better, to leave religion totally out of politics and commerce, as our founders wanted it?

The question really should be, can you be human without hypocrisy?

I don't think so, but there are varying levels of hypocrisy and some wind up hurting a great deal many than others (George W. Bush as an example).

religion has nothing to do with hypocrisy.. it's all about ignorance, for a series of reason that I am too lazy to explain.. and besides this isnt the place for that. But if you still have doubts get a world map.. mark all the "hot religious" spot on it.. and you'll have many things revealed to you... oh and reading some history wont hurt either.

religious activity level is proportional to ignorance.. thus the 65% vs 25% between USA and Europe is a clear indicator of the cultural level of the 2 continents.

The best insights into religious hypocrisy come from Jesus who exposed the religious leaders of his day (as a group, not individuals). His stinging rebukes to them would not be tolerated in today's p.c. world! It is true that religious hypocrisy is the worst possible form (though as others have said, all humans are guilty of hypocrisy to some degree in some matters.)

You are right to say we should leave religion totally out of politics and commerce. But bear in mind that sincerely religious people can be a power for good in politics and commerce! They would be honest, hard-working, and not out to glorify themselves.

It's a pity you assume those who claim they are going to heaven also claim to be better than those who are not. Some may do so, but I know that sincere Christians are utterly humbled by the prospect of heaven for they know they have done nothing to deserve it. They do not consider themselves to be better than others. If they urge others to consider Christ and to be saved, it is out of sincere love for the plight of those who ignore Christ's warnings about their eternal destiny. If you meet religious people who think they're better than you, you've met hypocrites, for Christ said he came to save sinners, not the righteous! He said the sick need a physician, not those who are well. I hope that helps you see matters more clearly, from a believer's point of view.

I have found that most of what I have seen is just ....that.What you describe.Instead of being caring and friendly they want to slam a person. As soon as they see them. Its so competionary.I have found I have a phobia on churches, and church people alike.Sad,sad.Jesus wouldn't want it that way.Its ok for me to ........ but its not ok for you.Whatever! It makes it hard for 'one' to be spiritual also.If we are spiritual people shun us for it.We're "on the dark side" as I was told.We have to do things just like they do.Which doesn't do much good.If they had seen what I've seen in dreams and in reality through the gift of knowledge they would cringe.I have been invited back to a few churches just for the sake of being nice.No.I don't think so.Praying everyday.Being true to one's self and honest with the Creator and doing what I've been doing works better.
Exellent question!!

If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.

Morgan, one of the few positive outcomes in Iraq is that the Baha'i Faith and Christianity, which were repressed, are now free to meet, teach, and worship -- between the explosions.

If you love your creator with all your heart mind and soul it is impossible to HIM out of any of your opinions or reations to anything but being aware of your Creator also makes you know you can be heavy handed and to take the kind gentle side of your belief to help others desire what you have for truth

The answer is Christ.

Without Him, NO ONE goes to heaven.....

We are all sinners.....and all hypocrites in one way or another. This is what the world needs to know.......they just refuse to listen to the truth.
