Yes you are. I dont say that to condemn you, But I speak truth as you asked. Jesus, God , beautiful words , meant to lead other close to GOd, and you use them in anger??? No, that does not glorify God, even if you dont put any of the other gd to it. still using His name for negative not of God , but of the devil. But when you are angry, call on Jesus anyone, in a good way. Say JESUS HELP ME, and HE will. I pray this speaks to your heart , as it is meant to do, not to condemn you and remember Jesus is eager to forgive, just ask and stop it. Repenting is not just saying I am soryr, it is also sayin g I wont do it again... few want to hear it, but its truth.

Yes, you are using his name in vain when you replace a curse word with the name of God or his Son. Would you like it if someone used your name in place of a curse word?

It is NOT a violation of the 3rd Commandment.
This relates to invoking God's name in an oath and then not fulfilling this vow. The commandment is really about making an oath and then keeping the oath. In other words, making a pledge in God's name and then keeping it. If you swear by God and then break the oath then you're defaming God's name in some fashion. It is not simply using God's name frivolously, i.e. "my god" or "oh god."

Misuse of the name of the Lord is definately a sin (per the 10 commandments), and using His name in place of swear words is misuse. It's great that you're trying to change and stop that because the Lord sees that, but if you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, it won't separate you from Him. Everyone has their stumbling blocks. The important part of that is to rely on Him for our strength to overcome it.

Imagine if every time somebody felt like cursing, they used YOUR name. Or the name of somebody you love, like your boyfriend or your dad or your mom. How ticked off would you be?

The reason why you use "God" or "Jesus" as curse words is because there is so much power in saying those names. I remember when I was in high school, somebody challenged my friends and I to say "John Cleese" instead of "Jesus Christ" in these situations. We couldn't do it because there's no power in the name "John Cleese."

As you regard yourself as a Christian, you need to retrain your mind. Instead of using the Lord's name as a curse word (which is indeed using it "in vain"), call on the Lord in prayer. In other words, if you stub your toe, instead of spitting out "Jesus!" in anger, say, "Jesus, help me!" in prayer.

You can't just stop. You have to retrain yourself.

Saying God or Jesus stems from a long time ago when something would shock or surprise us and we would cry out to God as a way or means of protection. Same as how in a shocking situation someone of the Catholic faith might cross themselves. It's a way of crying out to God in a desperate situation. God knows your heart and your true intentions. If you aren't saying it as a way of mocking God or cursing God, He knows that. He's not a cruel God. He knows our hearts. He knows you don't mean it that way. Unless the intentions of your heart is evil when you say it, I wouldn't worry about it.

the saying: using God or Jesus' name in vain in just another religion lie and deception...
1st of all: Jesus is just another Man, not a God;
2nd of all: God doesn't get upset if and when you use God's name, whenever...

For the first 5 years of my life I thought my name was Jesus Christ. Those were my fathers first words every time he addressed me.

yep, you sure are. If you're not speaking His name in praise, normal conversation (not substituting His name/God for a curse word) or petition, then yeah, you basically are.
