The Satanic has always motivated artists.

Aubrey Beardsley was called the "Fra Angelico of Satanism", and his art has a decadent, satirical feel that may deserve the description of Satanic. Likewise the art of Beresford Egan and Alistair.

The great, Satanic novel of the late 19th century was J.K. Huysman's "Au Rebours". Aleister Crowley was an amateur artist, and revelled in Satanic themes. He also chose Lady Frieda Harris to provide Satanic-inspired illustrations to his Thoth Tarot deck.

As much as Christianity has inspired art, it would appear that Satanism also has its inspirational power. What do you think the reason for this is? Is it true religious impulse, or the desire to provide a shock to the sensibilities?

Perhaps you could help me figure out whether or not the Bible is the "inspired word of God".

I had been a Christian up until about two years ago, but now I'm no longer a believer because God hasn't been there for me, and I'd really like some help from you guys to get me going either back towards Christianity or into another religion, like Neo-Pagan or an agnostic.

I myself am a "head first" type of believer. I know others that are heart first type of folks. To me it is true that a person's heart will usually catch up with their head in their beliefs, and vice versa. In other words, once a person believes something in their heart, they will find and filter the evidence so that their intellectual beliefs will catch up with their emotional belief. And an intellectually based person's emotions will eventually catch up with their thought life.

Is this also true with a person's actions? Does a person's morality and character (their actions) also influence the way that they think and emote?

In other words, do your actions influence what belief systems you will attach yourself to? Does character influence what a person can or cannot believe?

Are all three, head heart and hands tied together? Do they necessarily follow one another in most people, or are they separate?

Not a single word in the new testament is jesus' writing, why wouldn't he write it himself if it is truely supposed to be the word of god, and he was actually a living man on this planet so he was physically able to write it himself.

Why did he have to die, get ressurected, and let humans write their own perception on the story, to let it get so blown out of proportion.

do people complain that the clergy strays from the bible and twist scriptures to fit their lifestyles, (most do), but in the same breath will complain that those who listen to god and apply biblecounsel cannot think for themselves? either the clergy adheres to the word or they do not. since i believe that we are god's creation, who knows us better? why would he provide a manual for life if it wasn't valid? why would i think i could think of a better way? do i know something he doesn't know? satan said we didn't need to listen to him.

God teaches us to think for ourselves. the bible says to make sure of all things, hold fast to what is fine. we are taught to study and make an informed decision. so why do certain complainers say we are led blindly? are they not doing what they accuse us of? they seem to be calling us closed minded while holding fast to what someone else told them. if they are indeed thinking and reasoning on their own, why are they in unison?

This is an excerpt from a Y/A user's answer:
------------------------
[God] does not want most people. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to us in John 16. And He said this:

John 6,44
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day."

And then there is this:

Romans 9,18
"Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden."

So God doesn't want everybody. In fact, He sets some on this Earth to fall.
-------------------------

Got any thoughts about this, atheists?

are you letting those around you tell you who you are?
the devil will decieve and trick people into believing they are
so and so and others will believe this is who they really are
which is all a big lie
Other Christians judge those by what they see on the outside
and the Lord God see's our hearts and only the Lord God
knows who we truly are?
Yes you could be presenting yourself as an imposter?
and that is not who you really are and not the real you

I ask this because I do know some people who are just like
this living that lie and not being true to themselves and honest
to others around them

This quote was the central theme of Rasputin's teaching. He believed that salvation was to be earned through sincere repentance, and only a soul stained with sin could truly experience the forgiving power of God. As such, his message was remarkably popular in upper-crust St. Petersburg society.

Your thoughts on Rasputin's hypothesizing, and on Rasputin, please?

I'd rather be the scholar, due to these words of the Prophet (saw) What do you think of this?

"The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self.

The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr.

He who helpeth his fellow-creature in the hour of need, and he who helpeth the oppressed, him will God help in the Day of Travail.

What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of a human being, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the wrongs of the injured."
