I've read James && Matthew all the way through. Right now, I want to read something that will just have a huge impact on me. What should I read?

Keep reading the Gospels, Mark, Luke and John for a start, to get a foundation of Christianity in your life. Then read the book of Acts to see how the early church got started, which will then prepare you for the letters of Paul (Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, etc.) Hebrews is an other good one.

Maybe you should get a devotional book and look at the topics that are relevant to you. They usually have scripture references. That may be a good starting point for you.

I have read the Bible all the way through, and I have to say that it can be pretty monotonous. You will learn more by reading passages at a time.

Hi, Macy,
I'm reading the Bible through, so I started out at the beginning and I'm reading to the end. But some people have advised me to hop back and forth between the Old Testament readings and the New. I think doing that would probably fit your reading style a little better. Whatever you decide, enjoy yourself, and God bless you!

To understand and appreciate the New Testament you should know the Old Testament and therefore, Jewish history/prophecies. I recommend a free audio series for Bible study that covers the 14 historical books of the Bible that cover salvation history, from Genesis to Acts. I learned alot from it! It has 13 episodes each about an hour long. The Series is called "Our Father's Plan". God bless.

Macy,
I usually suggest reading the Book of John first but Matthew is a great start. Paul's letters to the Corinthians is very interesting. The Book of Proverbs in the Old Testament is rather good too. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,

If it is a red letter bible..................read the red parts!!! I love those parts!! Read whatever comes before and after them. It's the meat and potatoes of it all. When you can, get your own "study" bible too, that helps alot. Any Christian book store can help you pick one.
Good reading!!!

Psalms or Song of Solomon (Some Bibles, Song of Songs).
I add; you not have to try to read all of Psalms at once, just jump around and check it out.
