Would you be the scholar or the martyr?

Question

I'd rather be the scholar, due to these words of the Prophet (saw) What do you think of this?

"The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self.

The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr.

He who helpeth his fellow-creature in the hour of need, and he who helpeth the oppressed, him will God help in the Day of Travail.

What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of a human being, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the wrongs of the injured."

This one is not wise enough to be a scholar nor brave enough to be a martyr.

This one is simply a man, like all other men, sometimes of benefit to others, sometimes of no benefit even to this ones self.

Well, at first I thought I wanted to be a scholar. Then I read James 3:1 where it say "......... we who teach will be judged more strictly". So, guess I will go for martyr if that my only choices.

I would be the scholar who got martyred.

And the second question?...
I would do any of those when they appear to me. If I see hunger, I would do my utmost to demolish it. If I see the afflicted I would do my utmost to help. and same with the other two.
To save someone's soul is better than than saving them. i.e to turn someone to Islam is better than dying for them.
