Most people believe in God’s existence because, using their common intelligence, the evidence points in that direction. But can God’s existence be proved? His existence cannot be proved empirically (i.e., scientifically) as one might prove that water freezes at thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit. But if one uses his logical ability, he can make a case for God’s existence that is compelling—indeed irrefutable.

Throughout the history of mankind most people have believed in the existence of a superhuman, personal power. If one concedes that humans generally are rational, this universality of conviction must rest upon some reasonable basis. There are several lines of evidence that point to God.

My son is going to be dedicated to our church in a few weeks. The pastor told me to have a scripture ready for him to reference during the ceremony. I should read my bible more than I do and I'm embarrassed to even ask this. Does anyone have a favorite scripture that would be appropriate for this event? Thank you! {:o)

The primal and supreme deity of the ancient world, the oldest and most universally worshipped, was the Great Mother, Mother Earth. Images of Her date back to Aurignacian Cro-Magnon peoples, from 27,000 years ago, and are found all over the Eurasian continent from Spain to Siberia. For thousands of years before there were any male gods, there was The Goddess, and Her worship continued unabated clear up until its violent suppression by Iron Age patrism. When and where worship of the Mother prevailed women and Nature were held in esteem. The Chinese call Her Kwan Yin; the Egyptians knew Her as Isis; the Navajo call Her Changing Woman. To the Greeks She was Gaia, and to many black peoples She is Yemanja.

Many people responded to my last question by saying that God is like a judge who punishes people. But with God, it is only the electric chair (actually it’s worse).

He chose the rules, he could have easily made some existence that is neither Heaven nor Hell. People do not believe in God because there is simply not any good evidence, or they believe for equally good reasons as people of other faiths, but have simply chosen the wrong faith.

Does this put them on a par with mass murders?

What kind of monster does that make God?

Please would you give me your thoughts on this.....

We are good peaceful people who harm none and respect and cherish this world we have been given as our home. We help others as much as we can. We see good in almost everything.

Do you think IF at the end of our days we are wrong in our beliefs.....
That your god would not see all the good we have done and still cast us into hell?
What say you?
Thank you for your answers

why did He create evil, sickness & war? I know that some of these things are a result of men's self will, but what about diseases like cancer and mental illness? Why did God make the "Crazy people?" Why does God allow sickness? Why does God allow evil and war? Is He just some big kid playing with an antfarm or what? Who created the devil? Why doesn't God just kill the devil?

just describe what you think hell might be like, ive heard"hell is fire" i personally think Hell might be climbing down a ladder that is made of cold steel, once you go below the surface of the earth, the hole closes, and you are in complete darkness, with nothing anywhere near you. you just climb bare-footed down this cold steel ladder for eternity. you cannot let go for if you do, you simply get pulled back to the ladder, the col steel represents your cold heart, and how you made others feel during your life. WHAT DO YOU THINK HELL IS LIKE?

2nd request.
I was wondering if someone could elaborate more on the Mormons who have plural wives. They say God commands them to do it. I have already ordered my Book of Mormon from there website and have been told that Mormons no longer take multiple wives. I watched a documentary last night where this community Sentenial Park I think was the name of the community. They were all mormons and they practiced this belief. I would like to know more about this. If anyone has any other information. I already know the Church of Latter Day Saints and they do not do this anymore.

What Neopagan Druids Believe--P. E. I. Bonewits

Here's a brief introduction to the basic beliefs that I expect
will characterize most members of ADF. These spiritual beliefs are similar to most of those held by other Neopagans and the similarities are far more important than whatever specific distinctions of doctrine or ethnic focus there might be between us and other Neopagans. I should also mention that not all Neopagans who consider themselves Druids will necessarily agree with every point of the following list. Nonetheless, these beliefs will be the roots of ADF's polytheology, the source of the spiritual grove we seek to plant. 1) We believe that divinity is both immanent (internal) and transcendent (external). We see the Gods as being able to manifest at any point in space or time, including within human beings, which they might choose, although the they may often have their preferences. (continued)

In this dream a great tall man came to me, he wore a long black coat and a hat like the Pilgrims used to wear...he told me not to worry about what the Bible said, that it was not important, that what was important was understanding God in a personal way, having an experience with God and communing with Him...that a book of rules and regulations wasn't important...not to argue and fight about it...but open up and hear God at the Source...this tall man said I would be hearing from him later and to be listening for him...so...what do you think???

since the bible does not lie and if you believe the Father , the Son and the Holy Spirit is one and the same, or co Equal. explain this simple but true bible verse...
1 Corinthians 11:3... the head of the woman is man, i take this to mean:( head of household or being in subjection to.)
.
the head of man is Christ, i take this to mean : (man is obliged to follow the directions & pattern provided by his head, Christ.

the head of Christ is God. (wouldnt this be self explanitory) meaning every one has a head ,
the family, at the Job, in sports, in court, in the govt.
also in Theocratic order(Gods arrangement of things) so therefore the Son has a head which to me shows that if the Father and the Son was the same One; Jesus would have no head, invalidating this scripture. how would you explain it?

Suppose God exists, and he says, through a book written a long time ago, "Believe that I exist or you will go to a very bad place when you die." Threats of violence aside, how is this a choice? It's like a robber putting a gun to your head and saying, "You have two choices. Give me your wallet or I'll blow your brains out."

What you are about to read is true - reader discretion is advised... The sound is deafening.. Millions, possibly billions of voices screaming in unison of the horrendous pain they are suffering. Endless faces of people writhing in agony amidst a lake of fire. Who are these people - and why are they here? These are the people who have died through the ages without hope... Those who have broken God’s moral Law and are paying for their crimes against an infinitely Holy Judge. Will you be going there? Have you broken God’s Law?

Ask yourself the following questions with a tender conscience. Remember, God knows your every thought, word, and deed. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, regardless of it’s value? Have you ever taken God’s name in vain, or used it as a curse word? That’s called blasphemy. Have you ever looked at another person with lustful desires? Jesus said ‘Whosoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart.’ If you’ve admitted to breaking these commandments, then God, the Judge of the Universe sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer-at-heart. If you are found guilty on Judgment Day, you will be one of the billions of people cast into the lake of fire for eternity. The same God who is infinitely Holy is infinite in mercy as well. He made a way for you to be forgiven by sending Jesus to pay the punishment you deserve. You broke God’s law, and Jesus paid your fine. He then defeated death by rising from the dead. God now commands all men everywhere to repent because He has appointed a day in which He will judge the living and the dead. Repent! (turn from your sins) and place your faith in Jesus alone to save you. Do it today. Nothing you can do will help you on Judgment Day. Read your Bible daily and obey what you read.
