My son is going to be dedicated to our church in a few weeks. The pastor told me to have a scripture ready for him to reference during the ceremony. I should read my bible more than I do and I'm embarrassed to even ask this. Does anyone have a favorite scripture that would be appropriate for this event? Thank you! {:o)

I will tell you the same verse I gave my Pastor to read when I dedicated my kids-- I love this verse and I pray the Lord will bring up my kids in this way:
I say this prayer over my youngest everynight-
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

My baptism verse was Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint"

So you want a Christian to help you cheat so you dont have to read the bible? You said you have a few weeks..... Read the book of John and pick the best one in it. Read Proverbs to your son if he is old enough to understand.... He will probably like it. Then you can both pick it.... read with your whole family.

(and you continue all the way through the Psalm.) My dad did it at my nephew's dedication and in Nigeria they use it all the time for baby dedications.
