Of course it's symbolic. (That doesn't mean they MIGHT not really look like that, how would I know?) But what's to be gained from describing them if there isn't some symbolic truth in there?

Peace to you.

EDIT: In deference to the rabbis who taught that only the most experienced teachers should attempt to interpret the book of Ezekiel, I will not speculate on what that symbolism means, but it seems there may be many levels of truth there.

I'd say it's symbolic. and look for other cultures ideas of similar 'demi-Gods'.... but that's just me.

P.S. The ideas of bodies described pre-dates Christianity in 100's 1000's of years :p

2Sam.22:11 says God rode on a cherub and flew through the air, so they must at least have wings and a body that God could sit upon.

"And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind."2Sam.22:11

They don't really "look like" anything. They are pure spirits, which have no physical form.

It's not important. The death burial and bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is important.
