(a) I believe that every word is the literal Truth
(b) I believe that the authors were inspired by God but don't believe in every single word
(c) I think it is a useful book, but it isn't in any way "inspired"
(d) I don't value it all really

If the definition you're closest to is unsatisfactory then by all means re-define it. I also know that some of you will agree with different definitions depending on which Testament we are talking about, so feel free to elaborate fully.

I understand he doesn't feel the need to prove himself...that we should just believe because a book tells us to. But...why the punishment then? Why hell if one does not believe? We expect children to believe in Santa on faith alone (or maybe dad stomping around on the roof for some evidence,) but we certainly don't punish the child when he says he no longer believes. Why did God design it that way?

Leave the 2000 year old people out of this...I'm talking about today.

This is a sincere question addressed to believers. I have my own answers, but am not certain whether they are correct.
Consider: it is certain that Jesus was a Jew; maybe that resolves the question.
But did he become a Christian at some point?
Or maybe since Jesus was also God, there was no need for him to belong to any religion, since the notion of religion involves justification and eternal salvation: Jesus had no need of justification and salvation since he was the Second Person of the Trinity, he was God?
Please resolve. Thanks in advance.

Thanks!

Just take your best guess....you really don't need to say something like, "We don't have to understand his motives."

Why does he not just appear and end the debate? If he wants everyone to believe in him, wouldn't this help out in that cause?

Both Christmas and Easter were pagan holidays that were not celebrated by the Church, until the Romans gained control of the Church in 325 A.D. December 25th has nothing to do with Christ's birth, instead it is the Roman goddess Saturn's birthday. Easter is holiday named in honor of Estore the Anglo-Saxon goddess of Spring. Knowing this history, shouldn't Christians take a stand against these pagan observances? What does a decorated tree, snow and Santa Claus have to with Christ? What does a Bunny, colored eggs, hot cross buns have to with Christ? Even more puzzling, what does Good Friday have to do with Christ? By the way he did not die on Friday, he was crucified in the middle of the week, and was and the grave for 3 days and 3 nights just as the scripture states, just as Jonah was in the belly of the fish for 3 days and 3 nights. He was crucified on Wednesday at around 3:00 PM and arose Saturday Evening after sundown. His Grave was discovered empty early Sunday Morning.

I just graduated from college. It wasn't a religious school of any sort and the religious backgrounds are pretty diverse, but looking back. Why is it that some Christians think its appropriate to go up to me or any other non-christian and tell them they should change? I think its very rude and I think they are bad people for not accepting that someone else has beliefs that they feel strongly about, but they aren't the same as theirs. What is with those people?

For some reason every time I ask a question a bunch of evolutionologists get drunk. It's almost like it's a game or something. Since evolutionists are always getting drunk when I ask questions, they'll be too drunk to procreate.

Then we won't have any kids who believe in evolutianity, so eventually nobody will believe in ape-olution. Doesn't this prove that evolution is a self-defeating theory?

I am thinking of a number, and I will remember it--- so that tomorrow I will see if that many people answered it. If it is right- then I will give best answer to the 4th person who answered.

I know, makes no sense- I love it!

Us atheists have been pounding into everybody's heads the fact that atheism isn't a faith, it's "the lack of a faith." Should we all assume everybody knows what atheism means, and stop nitpicking over word choice?

I'm not really sure of my opinion, try to convince me.

According to the theory of evolution genetic mutations are necessary to evolve and help organisms to adapt to their surroundings.

The Creationism Society ran an Em Adjineri experiment to determine whether or not this was true. Em Adjineri (say her name out loud to get the true effect) is a prominent creation scientist who devised an experiment to disprove evolution.

Since radiation causes genetic mutation, the Em Adjineri experiment subjected several women to heavy doses of radiation. Those women then conceived children and the effects of the mutations on the children were observed.

If evolution was true, the children would be more highly evolved than most children because of all the mutations. However, the children were not highly evolved and many of them had health problems. It's a good thing this was an Em Adjineri experiment, or people could actually have gotten sick.

This proves that genetic mutations are harmful and therefore evolutionism is false.

Intelligent design. But can you attribute it to any religion? Any 'human' god/s? Possible?

P.S. not a Scientologist here...
