Honest question, I remember some Muslim member of Y!A stating this in a post. Curious to know the background and references to this.
Thanks!

You can educate me on "semantics," some other time, elmjunburke.
But, thanks for answering the question either way.
He referred to himself as being part of a group, he didn't say it was his own personal opinion.
I.E, he used:
"We Muslims...," etc...

Muslims believe that the meaning of a word allows for this to be possible. The word Muslim means one who submits to God therefore Adam was a Muslim 4000 years before their religion existed.
Allah means God therefore their false God Allah is the God of Abraham even though he does not agree with God.

This is sheer nonsense.
If one has a religion at all, it is a pure accident of birth geographically. If you were born to Saudi Arabian parents, you would be an atheist at birth and until you were able to receive ideas and obey your parents' wishes. Effectively, you would have no choice at all in the matter. So, it would be true to say that every baby born in the islamic world is a muslim at birth, even though that baby has no idea at all about anything, let alone religion and a god concept.
Every child is truly an atheist at birth and the concept of a god is introduced in the same way that algebra is.
Surely that is obvious even to the most thick-headed?

Their own quran says Muhammad was the first muslim and no one was a muslim before Him. The scripture written before Muhammad doesnt mention Islam. But I know they get everything from their own self appointed prophet and think its true. Sad aint it?

Muslims do not realize that Paul of the New Testament wrote that whosoever has not the spirit of Christ does not belong to Him but has the spirit of Antichrist..And since the Muslims don't believe that Jesus Christ is the true and only Messiah and the son of the living Almighty God, they have not His Spirit and have the spirit of Antichrist. So beware of their doctrine, it's origin is not of God nor of Christ, nor of the Holy Spirit of Truth...

If we understand that "Muslim" and "Islam" are words that are related to each other, and that they both refer to the act of surrender to the will of God, and the birth of a child is the expression of the will of God, we are each born in an act of surrender to God's will, and therefore are "Muslim."

It isn't.
If we're born into a faith, then that faith is the faith of our ancestors who evolved with their particular religious beliefs.
Islam is a baby religion... It's only been around for ... what? 1200 years?
It's almost as old as Christianity... Another baby religion.

It's true. They do believe everyone is a Muslim. You just don't know it yet if you're not practicing the faith. I'm serious.
