I am vegetarian. If I lived a lifestyle where I could raise chicken I might eat it or I might not. I would eat fish caught from clean water. I would probably eat venison. I don't have a real problem with killing them or plucking a chicken. I don't want to clean a deer though because it makes a mess.

Two reasons I don't eat meat are because of the way the animals and workers are treated. I don't want to contribute to what I see as a sad industry. Also I just don't think farm-raised fish are healthy. I've seen a fish farm in person.

Yes, to survive. This question would be best in the 'polls and surveys' section. I would certainly not kill an animal that looked as adorable as your avator though! Goodness. I would say hello to the land of berries and vegitables if I was given that choice. So totally cute, by the way. I had to answer your question just to look at that cute kitty again.

Actually probably be happier that way becuase I would know that I had killed then humaneley and in about one second by chopping their heads off as opposed to the way they kill them in slaughterhouses. The way they kill them is so gross-- by dipping them in electrified water and slicing their heads off except that for some animals it takes 3 or 4 goes b4 they die its disgusting they suffer a lot. I am actually thinking of going vegitarian I have been b4 but it was too hard but I might go back to it I was actually thinking today!!

No, I don't think so. Its not in me to actually do the killing, and neither my husband or I could eat something we raised.

For a couple of years before I got married, I lived on a farm with cows. Ididn't eat red meat for the whole time I lived there, just because the cows seemed so personal to me. My dog played with them, and they really had fun personalities.

No, I would not eat an animal if I had to kill it, nor do I know anyone male or female that would.

I don't believe most of the people here that say they would kill an animal. Meat is a very unhealthy food anyway. If humans were meant to eat meat, they would have the teeth that animals have, so it is unnatural for humans to eat meat.

God has just as much respect for the soul of an animal as he has for the soul of a human.

I don't really know... I guess if I found myself out in the wild with no food - I'd try to catch something. I watched all the Man vs Wild episodes so I am fairly confident I probably could catch something. Once I got it though, I don't know if I actually could kill it.

It was commanded that "Thou not kill" and this applies to your lesser brothers(animals) as well. The men and women who devour animals are animals in the form of a human. It was commanded to man he was to eat the seeds and fruits of the earth. And when its written to sacrifice animals its saying that you must raise up the animal in you to make it a fit bride for the higher self.

"For they, making a god of their belly, sacrificed to their God the innocent creatures of the earth, in place of the carnal nature within themselves. And eating of their flesh and drinking of their blood to their own destruction, corrupted their bodies and shortened their days, even as the Gentiles who did not know the truth, or who knowing it, have changed it into a lie" (Gospel of the Nazirenes)

But the men and women who are earthly continue to fill their stomachs with the flesh of the dead because they hunger and crave flesh and blood. Like savages in the wild. You become what you eat physically, mentally and spiritually. So when you eat upon dead knowledge you become dead and when you eat upon the flesh of the dead you become dead.

Peace

Whata buncha wimps! My mom killed, gutted and prepared her own chickens when I was a kid. We also slaughtered steers and pigs. Where do ya think that Mickey-D's comes from anyway? In my book, PETA stands for People for the Eating of Tasty Animals...K ;o)

I have killed and eaten animals, and yes I would continue to do so. Believe it or not, I think you learn to respect the sacrifice of the animal more if you have seen where it comes from, and not just from the supermarket.

NO, I just started eating meat not to long ago so I'm still getting used to the whole "eating of the flesh".
I still can't eat meat if I see it uncooked, so if I had to kill for it- I'll go back to eating my veggies.
