I am aware that a few members of the ordained clergy, mostly anglican, methodist, and othodox, have been allowed to become catholic priest. These men were carefuly screned by the church and the approval for them to become priest had to come from the pope. I was wondering if any of the bishops that have been appointed since this practice began have been married? Can a married priest be promoted to position of bishop in the catholic church? Is there anything with forbids this when they were allowed to come into the priesthood?

and we continue to evolve and accumulate knowledge because of it, can't that free will ultimately be the demise of God and religion?

Almost every religion has at least one sect that’s mystic.
Generally these mystics have more in common with each other than they do the faith they originally came from.
I hope I’m simply uninformed and would love to hear a Mystic view from Islam.

Thank you ahead of time, may God be with you.

I was thinking the other day if a church that teaches about a different religion every night and allowed everyone to attend in order to learn about each other would work.

Doesn't our indiffererances come from our ignorance of each other, this would be an attempt to erase this.

In my previous question, someone preempted this and said, “No.” I beg to differ; an atheist can use stem cell research or genetic engineering to invent ‘good’ technology whereas a Christian is limited by their beliefs like an overloaded cart limits a pony and this is only one such example. Are there any others?

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind. The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race -- that they should be the "servant of servants;" and they will be, until that curse is removed." - Brigham Young, President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1844-1877 - Quotation from Journal of Discourses

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God is death on the spot. This will always be so." - Brigham Young, President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1863, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 10, p. 110./

I find that the word atheist causes people to go into apoplectic fits here in Texas. I have been trying to come up with a different word. What do you think of naturalist, implying that I only believe in the natural, not the supernatural?

It's the religious people who do, and aren't their religions supposed to teach love and tolerance? They're just contradicting themselves. So what if we don't believe? At least you don't have to worry about us murdering children to send them to heaven or committing acts of terrorism.

if these Prophet's are from God.
Is there anyway we can tell for sure, that these Prophet's are from God.
This is something I would really like to know,
as I have thinking about it. Have the Prophets ever made any mistakes, or are they always on the ball with their Prophecies.

If so, what problems specifically?

If not, why not?

Why should a person feel compelled to abandon the Greek gods, or the Egyptian gods, or the Viking gods, or the four winds in favor of Allah, or Yahweh, or Jesus Christ?

Humanity faces the same fundamental problems today with its "new gods" as it did 3000 years ago with the old gods.

Nothing has been solved, so why the change?
