My grandmother started one in the 1940's but she apparently puts all the profit back into the church considering she depends on social security so much now. I'm sure the church would help her if she needed it though.

Is owning a church a good way to make money?

A couple had sex before marriage, but didn't tell the bishop and was sealed in the temple anyways.

If they decided to tell their current bishop a couple of years into the marriage, and they have callings and are very active... what would happen?

Would they be disfellowshipped? Or excommunicated? What would the consequences be?

I'm Mormon, just fyi, but I'm just curious, as I've recently been learning reasons for why people get dis'd and ex'd

I just read one of Jack's answers, in which he declared that Patrick is a man of great integrity and character, and is awesome.

Who else, here in Religion and Spirituality, also displays these three traits?

in modern times, who has ever done anything bad. By bad I do not mean that they deny your God. By bad I mean they break the law or hurt other people. They keep saying we are immoral yet I have yet to hear of anyone physically hurting someone else in the name of atheism. I have yet to hear of a news report of some famous atheist getting in lots of legal trouble. Now we all know about Stalin and Polpot and those guys. I don't want people from the past. Only modern people.

Besides my religion and all to do with it, I admire my mother. She has done a lot, and has taught me a lot. She is a faithful Christian, goes to church every single Sunday, and acts like a real Christian in that she does not force her faith on me or preach to me. She taught me that people are people no matter what religion, race, or country they belong to. She taught me that if somebody is not coming after you, there is no point in going after them. She taught me to live and let live. I am who I am today because of her and because of my faith. I thank God for this wonderful woman who has dealt with so much and still raised my brother, sister, and I. Who do you admire the most and why? Does your relgiion have anything to do with it or not? My religion teaches me to respect and honor my mother above everything (that is islamic) and to do what I can to make her life easier as an adult. My religion says that mothers are the highest of humans, and heaven is under her feet. You?

i'm an athiest and i just spent a whole week at a christian camp being a camp counseler going through about 31/2 hours of worship and praying every single day. Now my aunt that i'm living with is forcing me to go to church with her tomorrow. She's trying to change me but i'm not going to. i'm not going to change what i believe in. how do i convince her that i'm not going to change and that it's pointless that i go, and that she shouldn't force me to?

by the way i can't be disrespectful about it because she doesn't have to let me live with her and i really don't want her to kick me out. she says that as long as i'm living under her roof i have to go, but i don't have anywhere else to go. please somone give me some advice, so she'll just accept that i'm not christian and how to get her friends to just accept it also and stop telling me about the bible thinking that i'm actually going to change

Blood is necessary to sustain life

Date Written: 1450-1410 BC
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.

Scientific Discovery:
During George Washington's day, the practice of blood-letting to treat various kinds of illnesses was common. In fact, George Washington died from this very treatment. In 1830 AD, Dr. Marshall Hall came out in strong opposition to this practice. However, had any of the doctors who practiced this treatment read these Bible verses, they would have known that it could have fatal consequences..

If possible do not repeat an aforementioned choice so as to promote diversity in your answers.

For me... Mahatma Ghandi. I do not agree with everything he may have said, but it nonetheless required great force of courage and will for him to say it.
