Oh yes. I had planned on attending college, but stayed home to raise a family. When my kids were finally old enough that I felt I no longer needed to be a stay-at-home mom, and could finally get a life of my own, I became disabled due to rheumatoid arthritis, palindromic rheumatism, and fibromyalgia. Much of my life is spent in a wheelchair.

Had I known *then* what I know now, I wouldn't have changed a thing. There's no way I would have given up a moment of time with my kids, or the things we have done, just to make something of myself.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I was meant to be a mother first and foremost. Things have a way of working out for the best even when they appear to be at their worst. I cannot imagine that a career would have been as rewarding as raising my kids.

I had plans, but my path had a few unexpected turns of it's own.
