I do have doubts from time to time, particularly about certain aspects of church dogma. However, I have chosen to remain religious. I think that doubts and questions are a natural part of the discovery process within spirituality.

I used to be religious. I then took a step back and wondered why. Why I believed what I did, and I realized it was because people told me to believe this. They threatened me with Hell if I did not believe and with the reward of Heaven. That's when I first realized how absurd it is to believe something when there is nothing to support its existance. If the supernatural is to explain what we don't understand, the gaps are closing and that's plain ridiculous. If the supernatural is to give us comfort, like an imaginary friend, I suppose there is no harm in that unless the person tries to force me to believe in his imaginary friend. I'm speaking of Christianity in particular, which I can say with 100% certainty is not true. As for the existance of gods in general, there is of course a possibility, but without any evidence to back it up I see no reason to believe in it. Organized religion only leads to trouble; everyone should be encouraged to make his or her own conclusions.

Any who sincerely follows a spiritual path will know doubt!
The Zen teacher Ha'Kuin likened doubt to a rhinoceros, huge and implacable, standing in your path.
Just notice your doubts. Carry on with your spiritual training and watch your doubts as they arise and as they pass away.
(But it does have to be spiritual work we're talking about here! If it's just religious faith, then you may well be right to entertain doubts).

I used to be religious, and then I saw the light. What a weight of my shoulders! What a wonderful feeling of freedom!
And I did like being able to sleep in on a Sunday.
But I did lose a lot of friends from my Church when I left.....but it just goes to show, doesn't it? I have found real friends now.

I think everyone, even the most devout, have their doubts at some time or another. My doubts have been aimed more at the institution of religion rather than at God though.

I believe you can have a spiritual relationship with the Deity of your choice without believing in religion or religious texts.

i always have doubts, i always question. i think in the end that's what makes me more religious than say a person who never doubted and always went along with their religion.

Maybe you're with the wrong Christian group...
Acts 15:14-18
14 Sym´e·on has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name. 15 And with this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written, 16 ‘After these things I shall return and rebuild the booth of David that is fallen down; and I shall rebuild its ruins and erect it again, 17 in order that those who remain of the men may earnestly seek Jehovah, together with people of all the nations, people who are called by my name, says Jehovah, who is doing these things, 18 known from of old.’
Exodus 6:3
And I used to appear to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God Almighty, but as respects my name Jehovah I did not make myself known to them.
John 17:3
This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

I gave up on religion a long time ago.
Religions have failed all of humanity miserably!
