Because it disagrees with their view of the world and they think their interpretation of the available evidence is the only interpretation.
They look at the evidence and explain it according to the current theories of science, Creationists can look at the same evidence and see the hand of a creator in there.
Unless one can 100% disprove the other, which at this stage they can't - they should agree to allow both points of view to be put on the table and let people make their own minds up.
If creation is true then science will help us understand how it was done, and if creation is not true at least the scientists will be kept on their toes and motivated to keep examining the evidence and keep testing and updating their theories in light of whatever new discoveries they might make in the future.
This is why good science changed from insisting the Earth was flat when overwhelming evidence to the contrary was discovered, although at first they resisted the idea and would not even look at the evidence.
I would not want to have been the first Scientist to say the earth was a globe when the consensus of opinion dictated that it was flat and he was probably threatened and cajoled to go along with the Majority opinion and given a real hard time by everybody!

We don't hate religion, we're just a step in the evolutionary process. At some point in the not too distant future(1000 years), there won't be atheists (evolutionists) because we'll all be atheists.

Have you checked out the Clergy Letter Project?
"We the undersigned, Christian clergy from many different traditions, believe that the timeless truths of the Bible and the discoveries of modern science may comfortably coexist. We believe that the theory of evolution is a foundational scientific truth, one that has stood up to rigorous scrutiny and upon which much of human knowledge and achievement rests..."

Why do anti-evolutionists ask such dumb questions? The FACT of the matter is, the majority of biologists believe in God, and many, like myself, are devout Christians.

Evolutionists do not hate religion. We just have a simple question. Where's the proof?
