cult
n.
A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader.
I'm not sure. Do you think you could find members of these churches extreme enough to read the Bible and do what it says in the book?
Of course there seem to be no shortage of people willing to send money to their favorite religious leader, especially if the leader tells them that God will make them rich or heal their afflictions in exchange for the donation.
Is giving up a perfectly lovely Sunday morning to be at church an extreme act? Probably not.
I get a bit concerned with Pat Robertson puts the death mark on a world leader.
Is praising God for send a hurricane to wipe out an unrighteous people (eg Hurricane Katrina) an extreme act? How about burning Harry Potter novels? Or shooting doctors who commit abortions?
I'm still unsure.

Yes, to some degree. If they follow the false teachings of some charismatic leader, they can be a cult.

Any religion that indoctrinates small children before they are old enough to logically access what they are being told and then reinforces the teachings with threats of hell fire and eternal damnation is a cult.
