The above statement is a lie from the pit of hell.

God does not love sinners! He loves those who He has chosen, those who He has given a new heart, a rebirth in Him! These chosen have been supplied by HIS spirit to turn from sin, and begin life anew, in a battle, a spiritual war, against it.

If you are truly reborn, all you are is a vessel of honor that He has chosen to live through. It has NOTHING to do with you, with your ‘goodness’, nor YOUR ability to do anything pleasing to Him, for you are a sinner. It IS His Spirit, living within you that pleases Him, and causes Him to overlook your sin, seeing His Son in your stead.

There is an interesting problem with selling the “Iran as Nazi Germany” line. If Ahmadinejad really is Hitler, ready to commit genocide against Israel’s Jews as soon as he can get his hands on a nuclear weapon, why are some 25,000 Jews living peacefully in Iran and more than reluctant to leave despite repeated enticements from Israel and American Jews?

What is the basis for Israel’s dire forecasts -- the ideological scaffolding being erected, presumably, to justify an attack on Iran? Helpfully, as George Bush defended his Iraq policies last month, he reminded us yet again of the menace Iran supposedly poses: it is “threatening to wipe Israel off the map”.

This myth has been endlessly recycled since a translating error was made of a speech Ahmadinejad delivered nearly two years ago. Farsi experts have verified that the Iranian president, far from threatening to destroy Israel, was quoting from an earlier speech by the late Ayatollah Khomeini in which he reassured supporters of the Palestinians that “the Zionist regime in Jerusalem” would “vanish from the page of time”.

He was not threatening to exterminate Jews or even Israel. He was comparing Israel’s occupation of the Palestinians with other illegitimate systems of rule whose time had passed, including the Shahs who once ruled Iran, apartheid South Africa and the Soviet empire. Nonetheless, this erroneous translation has survived and prospered because Israel and her supporters have exploited it for their own crude propaganda purposes.

Of course there's Harry Potter, but I'm betting that movies, talkies, radio, TV, color TV, MTV, phonographs, records, cassettes, CD's, DVD's, video games, hula-hoops and pogo-sticks have all been labeled "the work of the devil" by loudmouth Christian Fundamentalists at some point. Pretty much anything that's more fun to do on Sunday makes 'em mad.

I'm quite fascinated by the figure of Kali in the hindu religion, but the more I try to find out about her, the more contradictory all the literature turns out to be. Her identity/legend seems very compliacated. Can somebody, perhaps a gennuine Hindu, give me the simple overview on her origin, the story of her legend, and how she figures in daily rituals/worship of a hindu life, is she important? Is she a lesser deity? What purpose does she serve to practising Hindus?

I am Catholic and my Husband is Protestant. We decided to marry at our local City Hall (4 months ago). I know that the marriage is not recognized by the Catholic church. I would like to start going to church more often now but I don't know if I would be "allowed" to receive the Eucharist. I have gone to confession but I totally forgot to ask the preist this question.

Does anyone know if it's ok? If not, what do I do?

--Nothing personal. No one has said that about me but I read it on here over and over. Someone says something about Jesus and is dismissed as brainwashed. Everything they say is discounted because of the way their family has brought them up or because some group influenced them. When "brainwashing" is mentioned the accusing person is convinced that the way they came about what they believe is superior. How so?
If you think atheism requires no faith, think about the big bang for a few seconds. well, what started that? I think atheism puts faith in its select scientific theories.
--Atheism feels like a dirty word, brainwashed feels like a dirty word. I do not intend to offend anyone.
--also if I believe Christianity to be true, am I guilty of brainwashing those I influence towards Christianity? Does that answer depend on your belief or disbelief of Christianity? Can you be brainwashed to believe the truth?

Thanks for reading and your response.

Even if you had kids already? You are its last hope before it goes to an orphanage and never receives the love and care it really needs.

Love ones have drug abuse problem.
Your friend sleeping with you wife/husband.

Pain and suffering of the human race.

If it's a holy AND history book, well, WHY is it so? What's the point of regaling us with the primitive and inappropriate (in modern times) ways of past cultures when the "good book" is basically a spiritual instruction manual, and the inclusion of parts we "shouldn't concern ourselves with" would be highly confusing and misleading?

For example, why include how mockery of God was dealt with, or adultery, or same-sex intimacy? What's the point of showing us just how this ancient culture, whose ways are irrelevant to our lives today, handled these situations? Is it so we'll figure out what NOT to do? Is there some encrypted message from the Lord that I'm just not catching? Why is it there??

being a homosexual is a sin. so then God isnt really a good character, if He doesnt likes when two people of the same gender are in love. and yes I read the Bible. there is a big problem in the future called overpopulation. wouldnt be great to have gays all around us to control population growth? cause man and man cant get pregnant. or look how many children are waiting for adoption and they need new parents, wouldnt be great that gay people would take care of that problem? cause two men cant get pregnant, so they can adopt a child or two. or two women would adopt.

to deal with the fact that you will one day be non-existent? I've recently accepted that there is no heaven or hell and that when we die, that's it...our time is up, but sometimes it's almost unbearable to think about how one day I will no longer exist. Have any of you ever gone through this and if so how did you deal with it?
