Won't God be angry, after all, we aren't talking about the Catholic Church, but the Baptist... The ones who keep judging the Catholics for shielding pedophiles from the moral secular law system.

Wake me when the lightning bolts start flying or people start turning into pillars of salt, otherwise, assume yes. I also would accept talking donkeys.

There's no such thing as "The Baptist Church" in the same sense as "The Catholic Church". There are a number of baptistic denominations but there are far more completely independent churches that are baptistic in doctrine but are ecclesiastically independent from any organization of churches whatsoever.

So you can't really say "The Baptists are the ones judging..." or someone is "suing The Baptist Church". There's no such organization.

The problem exists in every church, and in every other organization that deals with children (teachers being the single largest group of offenders). People who commit such crimes have to be prosecuted, no matter what groups they belong to. One correction though - the Baptist Churches (there are several) are not "His" Church. He founded only one Church for all mankind, and that was and is the Catholic Church. Others are mere manmade organizations teaching a mix of genuine truth retained from their Catholic roots, and modern traditions of men invented by their various human founders.

I believe that God is upset when He sees any injustice being done.

I only read part of the story, but to be totally honest with you, if the church was warned about a pedophile being around the kids and they didn't act on it and the pedophile hurt one, then yes I personally believe that the church is guilty. The least they could have done is warn the parents about a pedophile in their midst.

My church home is Baptist so you don't think I'm partial...

I think that molestation done by ANYONE is sick and disgusting and if anything could be done to prevent it then it should be done!!! And if it isn't done people who knew should be held accountable.

You're right in pointing out that they were the ones who kept judging Catholics based on that. Baptists seem to do alot of judging. I don't think your god would be very happy with that, doesn't the bible say that judging is for god to do?

And noone should have any sort of immunity from being prosecuted for sexual molestation, especially on a child.

The Church, Catholic or Baptist, can't be held accountable for the actions of it's clergy. But the Church has money, and just the mention of it makes a lawyer's ears prick up like a doberman's.

EVERY Baptist person in the world is not guilty of child abuse.
No, God is not displeased. God wants His children to be safe.
Please don't judge every Christian on the planet over this.
We are not all alike.
People who would do this are not Christians.

Our FATHER is righteous and honorable. HE will take care of things in the long run. There is nothing wrong with those who were hurt in suing the church for those things they could have done to help. Get your thinking right young puppy. Have a fun Saturday and a wonderful LORD'S DAY!

Abuse of any kind is not legal, moral, or ethical. No one should do it in the name of status, relation, belief to any other individual.

If an organisation, group stands for that abuse, by not stopping it it supports the ILLEGAL activity. So necessary legal action should be taken to bring Justice to the harm brought upon to the individual or society.(If the legal action be Suing, and so be it, it should be the discretion of the victim, and it should be made clear that the group, perpertrator and the victim should be not related at all in future. It is for the individual's healing.

To quote a Bahai saying: From the pen of Bahá'u'lláh Himself has come the following statement on the subject of the treatment of women:
The friends of God must be adorned with the ornament of justice, equity, kindness and love. As they do not allow themselves to be the object of cruelty and transgression, in like manner they should not allow such tyranny to visit the
handmaidens of God. He, verily, speaketh the truth and commandeth that which benefiteth His servants and handmaidens. He is the Protector of all in this world and the next. No Bahá'í husband should ever beat his wife, or subject her to any form of cruel treatment; to do so would be an unacceptable abuse of the marriage relationship and contrary to the Teachings of Bahá'u'lláh.
(Letter written of behalf of the Universal House of Justice to an individual believer, dated January 24, 1993)

Bahá'u'lláh has placed great emphasis on the duties of parents ward their children, and He has urged children to have gratitude r hearts for their parents, whose good pleasure they should strive to win as a means of pleasing God Himself. However, He has indicated that under certain circumstances, the parents could be deprived of the right of parenthood as a consequence of their actions. The Universal House of Justice has the right to legislate on this matter. It has decided for the present that all cases should be referred to it in which the conduct or character of a parent appears to render him unworthy of having such parental rights as that of giving consent to marriage. Such questions could arise, for example, when a parent has committed incest, or when the child was conceived as a consequence of rape, and also when a parent consciously fails to protect the child from flagrant sexual abuse.
