One best expression I suspect is God as "I AM."
As far as how I "know" ... at the most authentic depths of meditation, that is what is sensed, the absolute utter profound and terribly Simple miracle that anything at all IS.

According to the Bible and just about all religions based upon it's scriptures, God is neither male nor female. The convention of using a masculine term to refer to God is simply a best effort using the three forms available to refer to a heavenly divinity- to be called an "it" suggests something lower than he or she when believers place God above both sexes. There are many reasons why there was a preference for "He" over "She" when referring to God though traditionally men as heads of households ranked somewhat higher in the social order, so it was more natural.

Depends on what God is or if there is such a thing as God. If God is energy, then God is neuter or neutral/genderless, neither a he nor a she. There are many genderless things in the world, such as gravity, energy, a neutron, consciousness. So God is probably genderless.
So my guess would be that God is genderless or neuter. So that would be an It, rather than a He or a She.

The Catholic Church believes that God transcends the human distinction between the sexes.
It is traditional and scriptural to address God as He or Him. However, if you wish, it would not be wrong to address God as She or Her. I personally like to help people stretch their minds when thinking about God so I frequently write, "... Him (or Her) ..."
Remember immediately after describing God as the Good Shepherd, Jesus describes God as a woman looking for her lost coin (Luke 15:8-10).
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 239: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt1art1p2.htm
With love in Christ.

God is a He. Why else would we call him Heavenly Father?
The reason men write the books is because they have the priesthood and are most likely to talk to God. Why men and not women, because God chose men I guess. But there is a Heavenly Mother. We just don't hear about her much because God doesn't want people using her name in vain. He just loves her too much!

Cisco,
The only reference that I would believe comes from the New Testament and is when Christ refers to HIM as our FATHER. I suggest that HE is probably a spiritual being but I still think of HIM as a male. Have a wonderful evening.
Thanks,

God is all a male being because thats what the bible says...
lol...but i tried to argue that the Holy Spirit was a female because they didnt state if it was a male or female and i was thinking...so thats where God gets his sensitive, nurturing, considerate, loving side :)
