have you ever noticed that christians amongst each other never have the same answer for a religious question???
every one has a different idea of what happened in the Bible and how to interpret it! I thought that the whole process was unification and growing strong as a faith ,or am I wrong????

It's been a long standing moan of Atheists and Agnosts that one of the things they hate about religion is the closed mindset of it's followers.

I posted a question yesterday to see how religious followers would respond. As you can see from the answers, there is a total stone walling against any ideas covering the possibility of other gods, and indeed there was a particularly low response.

http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgqcePU3I_tKiYvMqvVMG1kgBgx.?qid=20070723080252AA4YneF

In light of that, I'd like to ask:

Does being religious close your mind to the outside world and limit your comprehension of understanding in any way?

As per usual, this is not a dig, it's meant to be thought provoking.

... It has been fabricated from source materials that can be identified and traced to their incorporation into the gospels. There is not a particle of hard evidence that 'Jesus of Nazareth' ever existed.
Your opinion please.

All the arguments in the world will not take me away from the truth. You must stop trying to give me some argument to make me doubt my fatih. God exists, I know it. Stop denying him or you will surely meet an awful doom. God loves you, he wants to have a relationship with you through Jesus. Go to your local church and more importantly read the bible with an open mind. God is everywhere you just need to open your eyes, just once. Open your eyes and see him. If you really see him you will never forget that he exists. No argument will make your faith falter if you know God. Come back and know God, all you need is and open mind. Please friend open your mind before it's too late. You may die any minute, where will you go if that happens? Are you sure?

you can call me ignorant if you wish , but I do not see why any one had to do die ! it didn't change any thing and humans are still playing their games !

the reasoning behind it lacks credibility because right after the alleged death of this man , wars where still going on , ppl still sinned (killed, raped , etc.) so why did he die to save us all!

so many ppl die in the event to save another persons life but they are not a God , so what was so special about this particular death???????

The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

2 Kings 14:6
But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Jeremiah 31:29-30
In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity.

Ezekiel18:20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

“Taking the lead from the Central Council of Ex-Muslims in Germany, we demand:

1. Universal rights and equal citizenship for all. We are opposed to cultural relativism and the tolerance of inhuman beliefs, discrimination and abuse in the name of respecting religion or culture.
2. Freedom to criticise religion. Prohibition of restrictions on unconditional freedom of criticism and expression using so-called religious ‘sanctities’.
3. Freedom of religion and atheism.
4. Separation of religion from the state and legal and educational system.

Exodus 20:17 "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ***, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."---To the God of the Bible, women and slaves (servants in the KJV) are the property of men; they are his possessions -- like an ox or an ***.

20:24 "An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee."---God gives instructions for killing and burning animals. He says that if we will make such "burnt offerings," he will bless us for it. What kind of mind would be pleased by the killing and burning of innocent animals?

You stay because part of you wants to know the truth about God. Part of you is aware of his divine prescence. Demons also possess you, demons that want to take people away from the truth and glory of God. That part of you that is aware of it, I want to only speak to that part, be aware, jesus will save you. You just need to believe. Read the bible.

the difference between the law given to moses and the words of jesus are so different...contradictory..... and please don't tell me they are not...could it be that jesus the son and god the father don't always agree and share the same views that would explain why he let his son get nailed and die...think he was trying to give him a lesson...kind of toughen up a little bit..no?? your thoughts please..

The verses that anti-islam people like to quote are taken out of context, and I've put some of them into context and used actual verses surrounding that one verse (and in cases even half verses making it look so, but stating nothing like what they try to say) to prove it. What do you think about this? This is also showing that we are not allowed to kill nonmuslims who are not physically fighting us. We are to use discretion and leave them alone.

What do you think of these two translations?

004:094] O ye who believe ! when you go forth to fight in the cause of ALLAH, make proper investigation and say not to anyone who greets you with the greeting of peace, Thou art not a believer.' You seek the goods of this life, but with ALLAH are good things in plenty. Such were you before this, but ALLAH conferred His special favour on you; so do make proper investigation. Surely, ALLAH is Aware of what you do.

I am a Nichiren Daishonin Buddhist...I chant "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo" like Tina Turner in What's Love Got To Do With It..for those of you not familiar :)

I am planning a wedding ceremony (my fiance is a Christian) that will encompass both our faiths although he is perfectly fine with just the Buddhist one.

Any ideas on what happens in a wedding ceremony? I guess there's no right or wrong answer.

When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, [that] all the people [that is] found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.
And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:
And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, [even] all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee. Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities [which are] very far off from thee, which [are] not of the cities of these nations. -- Deu 20:10-15

[64] Chavel 1967, v.I, 200f. The Bible references are Deuteronomy 20.

There are two types of war applicable to the 21st Century believers :

1. milhemet hova (obligatory war)
2. milhemet reshut (optional war)

This obligation is commented by Rabbi Chavel:

"This Commandment ... will be better understood in the light of the following passage from the 'Mishneh Torah': '

We are not to engage in war with anyone whatever unless we [first] proclaim peace to him; [this is applicable to both] an optional and an obligatory war; for it is said, When thou drawest nigh a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it (Deut XX, 10).

If [the inhabitants] accept the offer of peace... we are not to slay a soul among them, and they merely become tributary, for it is said, [All the people ... therein] shall become tributary unto thee, and shall serve thee'." (Ibid.)

****** OT COMMAND BY THE LORD OF ABRAHAM : *****

Step 1 --- Give them the option of peace (to become believers)
Step 2 ---- If they want to keep their religion, they must pay the Tribute (Head Tax)
Step 3 ---- If they deny the above two options then kill them all or enslave them.

In other words, if the city's inhabitants object to being subdued/enslaved, they have to be slain nevertheless. Also sparing their life directly contradicts Negative Commandment 49 (see note [65]).

"We must not make a covenant with idolaters, to agree on keeping peace with them or accept them practising idolatry, because it says (Deut 7:2) Thou shalt not make a covenant with them. Either they give up idolatry or they are killed. And it is forbidden to pity them, since it says (ibid.): Nor shalt thou shew mercy unto them.

http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/guido_deimel/judaism.html#46

The above references the command from the OLD TESTAMENT which according to Judaic law is applicable for all time and for all believers.

The truth about death in the bible says once u die we go back to the dust what u were once made there is no work nor devising nor knowledge (it's basically sayin that we dont exist anymore). and the other part of the bible says that we are to be absent to the body and at home with the lord and for the non believers will go to the lake of fire.(so they are sayin that we either go to heaven or hell) So what is there life after death or not, which one is the realest truth about death!!!!!!!?

I know this women that is prego.. she is not married but says she is muslim, should she have the kids what does Islam say about this.. the father wants to marry but she still wondering the mental galaxies of her mind. Should she keep the kids, if she does I only found something about Zakat to be given for this error like bloodmoney if she aborts its in the first 120 days according to Islam the fetus doesn't have a soul until after that time, but its quite forbidden unless huge reason is produced.
Can she keep the children and still consider herself in guidance or has she transgressed already by having sex before marriage and broke a limit of the lord? What is her best out?

If I tolerate things around me, I am just living it, whether it's positive or negative. Tolerating things/people means to allow it to happen and not to stand up against it if it's harmful and ignore it if it helpful.

What are your thoughts?
