“Taking the lead from the Central Council of Ex-Muslims in Germany, we demand:

1. Universal rights and equal citizenship for all. We are opposed to cultural relativism and the tolerance of inhuman beliefs, discrimination and abuse in the name of respecting religion or culture.
2. Freedom to criticise religion. Prohibition of restrictions on unconditional freedom of criticism and expression using so-called religious ‘sanctities’.
3. Freedom of religion and atheism.
4. Separation of religion from the state and legal and educational system.
5. Prohibition of religious customs, rules, ceremonies or activities that are incompatible with or infringe people’s rights and freedoms.
6. Abolition of all restrictive and repressive cultural and religious customs which hinder and contradict woman’s independence, free will and equality. Prohibition of segregation of sexes.
7. Prohibition of interference by any authority, family members or relatives, or official authorities in the private lives of women and men and their personal, emotional and sexual relationships and sexuality.
8. Protection of children from manipulation and abuse by religion and religious institutions.
9. Prohibition of any kind of financial, material or moral support by the state or state institutions to religion and religious activities and institutions.

I personally think it deserves all the support we can give it.

Red Dragon 2007: the Council of Ex-Muslim's is founded by people who were previously in the Muslim religion but escaped, some of them are under threat for simply leaving that religion.

I like this, and you know most of it is already in the US constitution, granted that there is a constant fight to keep it in there. Red Dragon is an idiot, who wants an Islamic theocracy, so of course he is going to think that this is wrong. He should go live where they already have one.

Beautiful! Sounds a lot like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights from the United Nations. It's a lofty goal to strive towards, and a necessary one considering the alternative of continued religion-based persecution around the world.

Sounds pretty good to me. However we can't even seem to meet many of those guidelines here in a free country that claims to have religious freedom. But it could be worse,we could live in an Islamic theocracy. Given the choice of living under the thumb of Islam,or living in a country where Christian Fundamentalists want to try and turn us into a theocracy, and use their political clout to try and force their idea of morality on everyone using the law,I would still prefer living here.

So if you're so into separation of religion from yourselves then why are you called the Council of Ex-Muslim's? Shouldn't you have a more secular name... like the Council of the Secular? Another thing I find strange about groups that want all these so called freedoms... is that they attempt to destroy the freedoms of the other belief systems to attain there idea of what freedom should be. It would be considered oppression for you or anyone to prohibit the customs, rules, ceremonies and activities of others. If you would like to see a perfect way of life... I would suggest that you re-examine Islam, as I don't feel that you fully understand it. Allah (God) knows best!

Is this threat due to leaving Islaam have anything to do with what Allah says to do to the Apostates?

Politics and religion should not ever mix, maybe this particular group of ex-believers in God do not realize that they are not ex-creations of the Creator.

So, in general, you want to go back to the cave man days, when there was no civilization and men and women lived like animals, slaves of their physiological needs?

Fantastic Idea!
But they should do it for all religions.
Where do I sign up?

Be prepared for some Muslims to whine, bash and ridicule you and your question.
